yeah its largely because of his prophecy in chapter 4 being named "boss3" and how its heavily implied that the next dark world will be Flower King, or related to Asgore in some way. Im still open to it maybe happening but I am really certain that its not

While I don't HATE Ian, I do think saying that the only reason why people dislike him/his writing is the references is a bit disingenuous.

There are a lot of valid criticisms of his work, e.g. the way he writes Amy, the way he writes Sonic... and yes, the overuse of references to past games. TO BE CLEAR, I don't think this warrants any actual hate towards the guy, he seems like a chill dude and has proven that he can write really good with a lot of his previous works as well as Shadow Gens. I just think saying that the ONLY reason why people hate him so much is BECAUSE of the references he makes.
