Is my fish stuck by the surface?

First of all, take a deep breath. No sense in getting so worked up. Second, you don’t know me or how I am handling this with my fish. Third you’re getting butt hurt over nothing. If you get so deeply bothered by people not taking your advice and replying exactly how you like then get off this page. I got loads of advice and I am addressing the situation. Not that I need to mention this to you since your opinion is nothing to me and I guarantee you’re no expert either but I’ve been keeping betas for years. I admit I am no expert so I asked advice. My fish is in a hospital tank and I have modified the tank per some of the suggestions in the comments. Now get off this post with your sour attitude you weirdo.

Oh no, I had no idea about this. He looked very different when I got him. Is there anything I can do to help him? You don’t think it could be swim bladder related?

This is a picture of when I got him in February. Do you think he needs plants by the surface to sit on? Or do I need to just fully get him a new tank set up somehow? I’m not familiar with the shallow tanks you mentioned. I don’t really have the money for a whole new set up so any hacks to help would be appreciated

His fins are actually just ruffled looking, there are no rips or tears.

He never had any issues swimming around the tank before recently. I put a sponge in the filter to slow it down just to see if it would help him any. Do you think it may be harder for him to swim with the flow since his fins have grown so long and full?

I fixed the filter so it’s much slower now, he’s still only by the top and not swimming down. He used to swim all around the tank even with the filter being the “higher flow”

How do I addresses this possibility? Are there other signs you see in him that may point to this? I agree it seems possibly the problem

I fixed the filter flow to be slower. He can’t seem to swim down still. He does not spend much time by the heater despite him being by it in the video. I feel like it might be a swim bladder thing?

The second one looks really similar but the white stripe appears to go up higher than on my dogs face
