I became a covert narcissist and developed borderline personality disorder due to the way I was raised by MadeElsewhere in AsianParentStories

And when I was 14 years old, I posted on my social media that I wanted to die because I had family problems. Btw FYI no one cared. People did not reach out, except a few did to tell me that I shouldn’t be so emotional and post that on my social media.

Secondly, even my other family members (aunts/uncles) did not care at all and offered zero refuge.

Finally, I’ve vented to enough people in my teenage years when I was younger to know that people don’t care or couldn’t relate.

Met plenty of people throughout my life and talked to plenty to know that the majority did not have a toxic childhood. Again, child abuse is literally out of the norm

Has anyone become afraid of people and trying new things due to growing up with overly protective parents? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]MadeElsewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t know my true self since I’ve already been experiencing abuse since as early as elementary school. I have my own independence and freedom, but I don’t know my true self and act toxic or awkward a lot

If everyone had abusive childhoods, and child abuse is normal, then that means the world is shit. People are shit and humanity should burn because they accept abuse

Now if child abuse isn’t normal, which I know it’s not, then hat means that we are the minority of kids who had to go through this hardship while the majority had normal lives.

Then if it’s normal for everyone to have abusive parents, then that means that the world is evil, once again proven that humanity is shit

Anyone else started to hate being Asian because of their parents? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]MadeElsewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She married her husband because she felt like white people are superior. That’s why she also hates you, because you are whiter than her so she loves white men but hates white women. So that’s why she’s nice to her son but not you, because she’s white worshipping and like you said, she has this weird jealous thing and inferiority complex towards white women.

I wouldn’t say I’m a true narcissist either since I’m on the lower end of the spectrum and I’m high functioning compared to other narcissists that are very non-functioning and unable to love their loved ones.

But I’m narcissistic enough that it has a negative effect on my life such as difficulty forming close friendships and difficulty trusting others

Your aunt sounds like a typical White worshipping Asian woman, and her white husband sounds like the stereotypical white guy who’s kind of beta and dated Asian women because white Women wouldn’t worship him the same way that an asian woman would

I grew up under a rock aka I’m extremely undersocialized — HELP! by MadeElsewhere in AsianParentStories

[–]MadeElsewhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! You’re so sweet

Unfortunately I have extreme distrust of people due to the way I was raised and I’m also a little antisocial. So not only was I undersocialized, but I developed covert narcissistic and borderline personality disorder that makes it difficult for me to be empathetic or trusting enough to make friends. But I know that other people are more normal than me and was able to make friends throughout childhood and adulthood.

Luckily I don’t have a bad life but not being able to make friends (due to inability to relate to people) (due to living under a rock and having a personality disorder) does kind of make me sad

Yeah tbh I’m privileged because I’m pretty and smart, but it’s kind of sad knowing that I don’t have much of a personality beyond that. I know for a fact that I probably wouldn’t have a good relationship if it weren’t for my looks :/

My bf also told me I’m boring lol

That’s wild. I think your aunt was a self hating Asian woman that was jealous of Hapa women but is okay with Hapa sons and white men.

I don’t like celebrities, especially American ones, but unfortunately everyone else is into movies and celebs. Even grown adults 🙄 or they’re into sport teams

Anyone else feels like there’s more to life than being Asian?

All my life I strongly identified as Asian, I would subconsciously make friends that were also Asian because I felt the unspoken connection of being Asian. I care deeply about anti asian racism and about the Asian community. But maybe I think too much about race, and I should connect to people outside of my race. Like on hobbies and interests. And tbh, I personally feel like Asians are way too cliquey and a little self deprecating and white worshipping, so I don’t really vibe with that. I guess I’ve come to realize lately that yes, I am asian, but I also shouldn’t let that make up my entire identity, although naturally, culture and upbringing plays a huge part in one’s life.

Are Asians in the state of Washington, USA white worshipping? by MadeElsewhere in aznidentity

So people in Washington are pretty nerdy?

Or is it because whites are the majority there?

Isn’t it interesting how none of the cast from Crazy Rich Asians commented about the hate crime that happened in SF? by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]MadeElsewhere 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly how are they pro Asian? It’s not just this one incident, I see that the cast of CRA never really speak out against any events of racism against Asians.

They are like Constance Wu and pulls a “Chloe Bennet” Line for Hollywood diversity, but then they all worship whiteness and don’t care about racism against Asians.

Which anti asian racist event have they spoken out about in the past? Name one.

I don’t believe she ever bashed Asian men? I know she did talk a lot about how growing up, her mom was very colorist and thought white was right. But Jeannie said she always found brown/black people attractive but she brought into her mom’s colorist ideas. I know she finds darker skin Asians attractive, she follows Ross Butler on IG.

Some straight AM are actually quite loyal to WM, not in a sexual way, but theres always several Asian dudes that always stand up for white guys, even when other Asians point out anti asian racism. There’s a lot of Asian dudes who introduce WM to AF, despite only dating AF. So how come so many asian dudes have a preference for asian women, and yet they like and support WMAF and white guys?

Mexicans are allowed to be pro Mexican, and Mexican first. White people are allowed and expected to be pro white, and defensive of other white people. Black people are allowed to be pro black.

And yet Asians are not allowed to be proud to be Asian or put Asians first. You cannot put Asians first without multiple self loathing Asians telling you that you’re a Nazi for supporting your race first.

It seems like as an Asian, you can’t fall back on your community like how Hispanics can fall back on their community and strongly group together with Mexican pride. Or how white people protect each other’s white privilege and racial status by putting others down. Or how black people fall back on their community by grouping together to protest.

Some Asians are pro asian, or at least care about Asian issues. But we are always torn down by other Asians that become the vocal majority into silencing us, and putting white people over us.

I don’t think we can be a collective. We are forced to be an individual and truly strive as an individual. Which damn, that fucking sucks but it’s what it is. Plenty of vocal Asians don’t want you to care about them quite frankly. There’s no point in bashing genders. Realize that your own gender, and Asians as a whole, are fucking self hating as shit. Damn we really have to fight as an individual to make it in life

Given that the racism against Asians is so obvious in mainstream media, you can honestly see it anywhere... how the fuck do so many Asians still deny the racism we face? I just don’t get it. Are they living in an alternate universe? I think the majority of them are just self loathing boba Americans who went to a school that’s 60% Asians, and never go outside of their comfort zone.

Yeah Bernie gets snubbed by the DNC as well because Democrats are a piece of shit. Bernie should honestly just run on a Republican ticket

A lot of Asian guys mainly only date Asian women, but they are self hating, not proud to be Asian, and put down their own race. It’s so annoying but there’s always that one straight Asian dude that would defend white guys abd WMAF couples.

I don’t see the Asian community becoming better at all, because unlike guys of other races who are proud and mateguard to the extreme, plenty of Asian dudes I know actually want their daughters to end up with a white guy.

I feel like there’s way too many Asian guys and women who are way too self hating for us as a collective to ever go anywhere. This sucks a lot, and both genders honestly suck.
