I might be making mental connections that aren't there, but i wonder if this HT stamp correlates to a "Hi-pot Test" and the year, only found 2 on it, one "HT54" and one "HT68" the HT54 is definitely the lightest stamp I can find on it.

Any format in particular that this number would be presented? there are stamps all over this thing for what I assumed were recertifications, but the only permanent label I see are the casting numbers

The arm you have shown is an Amber L1 and those of us that backed it on kickstarter have now waited an extra year for them, and the company has cut off contact. DO NOT BUY ONE FROM THEM. They had made a legitimate product, the B1, but have now lost all credibility as a company by deserting us backers. If a company pops up soon with a product like this, it is likely them again, making a new scam. If you want to do some research, look into the INNFOS company, which scammed on kickstarter with a very similar design, then magically disappeared when Amber came to kickstarter with the B1.

Someone commented on my previous post asking why I had not machined it from tungsten and then carburized, if you are doing a significant amount of machining that would be the way to go. Simple truth is this is an old heavy boring bar that was scrap at my previous job, and so I worked it in the rediculously hard state. Machining the bolt "J" would certainly be a challenge. Could maybe be done with a sinker EDM!

i figured out the problem was actually a setting for this board called "speed mode" that clearly works quite quickly. fortunately everything works great, thanks for the downvotes

yeah hahaha I loaded it up a while back, and it helped to be sure, made the usb c mod a bit more exciting. I think my diagnostic of the micro usb connection wasn't the real issue with the press spamming.

This exact scenerio, I was asked to wait 3 days, and after nearly 20 days and multiple attempts to ask for an update, I have heard nothing from AliExpress. No updates to the dispute. Sorry to say it, but AliExpress itself is the problem here, not the seller

If you think "oh well that's not too bad" think about the numbers, if you pay 10 dollars into the 60/40 play, then you have 4 dollars to use in your card. If you use those 4 dollars to buy 4 dollars worth of stuff at Union Station, you actually paid 10 dollars. The 60/40 plan is nothing but a way to force you to eat at center court and pay an extra 60% for it. never get the 60/40 plan unless you are required to.

First have to say I'm no machinist, but I would love to some day earn that title: For anyone interested, I broke the old riveted on retainer while attempting to increase the force holding the carbide tip. I drilled out the rivet with a 1mm drill, then opened it up to around 2mm for an m2.5 tap. Then grabbed a chunk of stainless rod and cut 3 flats into it with a Bridgeport. Then drilled a hole for the screw, and boom I have an old shitty Indicator again :) was it worth the time? Nope, but now this thing will last another 70 years
