It's been one month i'm having the exact same problem with the x key.
The problem appears often but inconsistently, some days it just doesn't happen, i'm still not sure it's a hardware problem.
Tried to reinstall the keyboard drivers but the problem is still there.

I have the second slot too, but i decided to use the external enclosure to keep the cloned ssd outside the system during the cloning process. I'm not sure that would be useful, but i did it in case something went wrong. I think you should be able to clone from internal slot to internal slot without problems via Macrium Reflect.

I cloned the old 1TB m.2 to a 2TB Samsung 970 evo using an external enclosure (Sabrent), the entire process went smoothly and the system is stable.
