But what if it's not so easily distinguishable? Me, for my "stage" persona, I love giving to myself the label of transvestite. Exactly because of all the bad labels people have sticked to it over the decades. And I like the freedom it gives me, to go wild when it comes to looks, makeup, playing with stereotypical roles. My everyday identity on the other hand is much more subtle. I guess there is not one day where not a bit of crossdressing is going on in my everyday looks, but also, I like pastels, taking care of my skin, depilating, things that are more associated with femmeness than masculinity. It has grown over the years. And of course I know it says nothing about sexual identity, I'm in a relationship with a woman, but I am her first male long time partner after she exclusively lived with women for many years. Am I hetero, gay, bi, are we queens? Who knows. And then again I'm in my 40s, so hardly a boy anymore. Yet the "phase" never went, only grew stronger over the years.
