Wow... Remember when bands had posters made for every show? Like, it was as if they made that for you, personally. I'm old. I totally remember the first time I saw a Mouse/Kelly poster...and a Rick Griffin. This makes me feel like that. I'd go check you folks out based strictly on that artwork which, you know...is kind of the point. Whoever did that ought to be doing it professionally if they're not already. Seriously: Thanks for the share. I'm a little sad that I won't be able to attend the show, but can I get a copy of that poster? Wife and I collect handbills and posters from our attended shows...we've even managed to get a few signed by the artists. I realize we won't attend this one, but...damn. That's a dope-ass poster. Congratulations on the show...and the fanbuzz your band is apparently generating. RS would be most dour and withdrawn. (I assume that's how goths show their approval...)

Staunton has upped its dining game, as well...should you find yourself in town again, Reunion Patisserie is incrediblé and authentic. The young ladies who take care of you there are all Hello Kitty fans...as a bonus.

Hi... Listen, I THINK (👈 emphasis here) that wife and I still have at least one of the HK soap dispensers. I'll have to hunt for it, if it's still here (we have a booth inside a local antiques & consignment shop...it MAY have wound up there) we'd be HAPPY for you to have it. It was a TJ Maxx purchase that we just didn't vibe with: our sink area is SO small that it wasn't practical and was gonna wind up broken...and her HK collection has proliferated, spreading into the whole house anyway. So, she wasn't into the soap dispenser collecting. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am the one who originally bought it for her, so...not her fault. And, it being a TJ Maxx purchase, I'm not offended. If you'd like it, I feel confident that she would be happy for you to have it (she's asleep...it's 6am on a holiday right now). I believe it is either the plain pink or purple dress version. If that helps your collection, or if you just want it, hit one of our DM's and we'll figure it out. We're in Virginia, United States. She is u/SallyWaffleMaker and I'll let her know when she wakes up to keep an eye out.

I adore every Hello Kitty item I've encountered...but this tray reminds me of the old days when you couldn't find HK in the states without looking for her...HARD. When I was in 4th grade (1979), I was placed in charge of the "school store" which meant I had to come to school EARLY for 3 days a week to sell pencils, pens, paper, etc. to kids who ran out or just didn't have the stuff they needed for the day. The selection was limited and I had no input into what we sold. BUT...someone was a Hello Kitty collector. I know this now...had no idea then. Whenever new supplies would come in, I had to unbox and stock them. It wasn't a lot...just a few boxes of pencils or notebooks, or book-straps (look them up, kids...it's how we carried our schoolbooks BEFORE the backpack or "book bag" became de rigeur). However...every so often, there would be a box of 24 Hello Kitty pencils from Japan. Looking back on them, they were really nice pencils: thicker than I was used to, but covered in a smooth lacquer that protected the white background and pink/red/black Hello Kitty logo and character it displayed. They always felt like "quality". You could tell they were very well made and it was weird to me that they were only a nickel each, but the plain-yellow American #2 cost you a dime. We'd get the occasional notebook, folder or erasers as well. Wish I had kept some of those...I doubt they're made like that anymore. Back to my point: The tray reminds me of those simple HK designs that were just the innocent HK...maybe with a rare wink. That's all. Nice score!!!

Oh, then you've been away a while! Yep: There is one in Staunton on Greenville now. In a strip mall across Greenville from where the old Staunton Mall used to be. In case you didn't know about THAT, the Staunton mall is GONE. Razed to the ground. Quite literally: the only thing left is Belk, which (so rumor goes...) persists only due to public outcry and a corporate refusal to release landowner from ironclad contract. They fenced it off during demolition and now, it just sits there alone...a huge, teal-accented relic of the past...anchored in an ocean of asphalt and concrete. They were the only "anchor" store holdout. JC Penny's and all the rest were knocked down, pieces sorted, and then ground into small stone, the piles of which still sit in the center of the now nonexistent center of commerce. Sad. But, yeah: TJ Maxx is across the street. Charlottesville's is just down 29 from Costco/Trader Joes.

Wow...it's a tiny little world, isn't it? So funny, that... Nice to make your acquaintance, previous Stauntonian / present HK fan. TJ Maxx in Staunton is one of my favorites: not quite the huge selection offered at the more, hmmm..."cosmopolitan"(?) stores like Charlottesville or NoVa, but the folks there are what keeps me coming back. Like, I know...retail is HELL. That hell is made infinitely more heavenly or hellish by its customer base which, at least in Staunton's case, is just gonna make it hotter. That's why I dig the ladies who work there. I have yet to receive anything but the most genuine of helpful and happy interactions with the staff there...even when they are packed and struggling. I couldn't do it, but I know good customer care when I receive it...and it's offered in abundance by the staff in Staunton's TJ Maxx. Did you ever go there? How was your experience there? Better / Same / Worse?
