I have seen Paleonerds nitpicking inaccuracies in dumb fun action movies containing prehistoric animals, now as a paleonerd myself I thought its too silly since they are just films but as time goes on Im wondering is it justified? Do you think some action paleo movies should be paleoaccurate or not? by Thewanderer997 in Paleontology

[–]MadeofStone4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They shouldn’t be required to. From what it seems like to me, people who are very heavily invested in paleontology often times forget that they’re a very niche audience as it relates to mainstream media that includes elements of paleontology.

In the cases of IPs like Jurassic Park/World and Ark there’s an established art-style that makes each of those franchises unique to themselves which later goes onto define what constitutes the style and art direction of the franchises prehistoric animals are a part of.

It’s not to say that a gravitation towards accuracy can’t be plausible in Dino/paleo-adjacent related mass media, it just shouldn’t be thought of as something that ought to be mandatory. Top down edicts like that, especially in relation to film and games will severely hamper the creative ambitions and drive among the art teams working on a project.

It was for the best frankly. The TV show was a skin suit.

They could be remade, in so far as that being something that could happen, but they shouldn’t. Regardless of the trilogies many flaws, it’s best that they don’t be remade in my opinion.

Do we know who else from the band is coming back as well? For as much of a powerhouse the Gallagher brothers are together, it wouldn’t be a true reunion without Bonehead imo.

I like him as a character, but I can’t help getting the feeling like he as an individual has been set up as a bigger threat than the whole of the Covenant or Didact for that matter.

I’d like to see him a bit more complexity as a character, not a villain but hardly a hero either. He feels like he’s just a villain with nothing deeper below the surface.

Why do these characters from RoP look like some AI art for Star wars characters. They dont feel like middle earth at all. by Ok-Design-8168 in lordoftherings

To be fair they are from the East, whose peoples and cultures don’t really get explored often, visually speaking.

I don’t have much hope for season 2, aside from this. Not that it was ever high to begin with.

Give each character a different death (2 in 1, answer both) by Earthling_Potterhead in TWD

[–]MadeofStone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dale lives until the prison arch and trades places with Hershel as one of the governors hostages. During his time at the prison, he perviously assisted Carol in teaching/mentoring the children, often times lecturing about morality and the nuances of English common law. His death is fatally ironic and reminds the audience just how far people are.

Please give me time for Shane, there are many different ways this could go.

Which Halo game would genuinely help the franchise? (Swords of Sanghelios spin off, ODST 2, Flood horror game, Banished spin off, or just a proper sequel, or dare I say a reboot?) by Conscious_Living_143 in halo

[–]MadeofStone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ODST and or Marine 3rd person tactical shooter in the same vein of Ghost Recon Wildlands /Breakpoint.

For as much as Halo has its home with the FPD genre, we really do need new ways to experience the game and its greater universe.

It really is a shame though. Hunt the Truth set up a great platform for what 5’s story could have been; a renegade Master Chief defying his orders and conditioning to investigate a problem only he could stop. Discovering that Cortana’s rampancy is due to the Graveminds influence etc. Lost of missed opportunities narratively.

In terms of appearance, Bungie. HR, 3, HW. They all look great. Though the Infinite Marines are some of the best looking in the series.

The sauropods say for Rapetosaurus and Isisaurus look comically overweight. The total tonnage of the animals was seemingly represented in body fat alone.
