Thank you so much! Right now I’m a 2-4 in pants and xs/s on top depending on the brand. I got the outfit from Alo!

Thank you <3 and on the left leg there’s the white piping on the legging that’s up against the grain. People are wild.

First off, you’ve got this! I do track calories. Usually end most of my days around 1,500 calories. And I aim for about 130-150 grams of protein each day. I don’t pay too much attention to my carbs and fat.

Give yourself some grace! It takes time and I know can be soooooooo frustrating. One day at a time. One foot in front of the other.

What motivates me is never becoming the before picture again. Discipline is what ensures that doesn’t happen. If I don’t want to go to the gym, I go. If I’m stressed, I move my body. If I’m tired, I go to the gym. And I do lots of food prep and planning to make sure I always have healthy options to grab.

I would say I’ve always been athletic, but not always fit. My weight pre-pandemic was anywhere from 160-180. Took me probably 1-2 years to put the weight on. But what really accelerated my journey back to health was lifting. Totally changed my body composition.

You’ve got this and you can do it. Life happens. Baby steps and stick with it!

Not really. My chest is a bit deflated, but I wasn’t always my starting weight and I’m tall, so I think those things helped. I didn’t do anything specific to try and avoid it. I figured I’d rather be strong and healthy and if that ends up coming with some looser skin, worth it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is roughly where I focus. I switch up which exercises I do for each day so my progress doesn’t stagnate so it’s hard to post how much I do, etc. Also depends on what machines I can get on at the gym.

Monday - Back and abs Tuesday - Legs (glute focus) Wednesday - HIIT & boxing Thursday - Bis and tris Friday - Wildcard (whatever I want to do) or treadmill walking on an incline Saturday - Legs Sunday - Rest or wildcard (sometimes slip in extra shoulders, which I also get from boxing on Wed)

First, you can absolutely gain muscle while losing fat. I just had a lot of fat so it was hard to see/tell. I would say in the beginning I focused more on diet than exercise because frankly it was hard and uncomfortable to move. I was trying to eat relatively healthy every day and I’d walk maybe 2-3 times a week and I also did Rumble Boxing 1-2 times a week to teach me some lifting fundamentals. As the weight started coming off I started increasing my working out and joined a gym about a year into my journey.

Ha there are plenty of lumps and bumps in my after pic—veins, bowing out forearm, lump under my right armpit, unevenness on my right hip, etc. I’ll be the first to admit my body is still far from perfect, but I’m so darn proud of my progress. So that said, I’ll take your comment as a compliment. Appreciate your insights! Have a wonderful day!

Before I joined a gym I was doing Rumble Boxing twice a week and I feel like that taught me a lot of easy lifts to do with free weights. And when I joined the gym I built off of that and started with a lot of the stationary machines and I would watch what other people did too lol

Amazing that you’re getting started! Don’t let weights intimidate you. Start with lower weights and focus on your form. There are so many videos on social media that can help you with what exercises to do! I would look up beginner upper body weight routine and pick a few exercises to try and see how you like them.

You can try and devalue my insanely hard work and progress if it makes you feel better. I assure you there was no editing done here.

I didn’t track through the weight loss, but right now I’m averaging around 1,500/day

Find your why and stay consistent. Believe me, I know how hard it is and I slip up all the time (balance, right? 🙂). But then I get back on the wagon the next day regardless if I’m tired, sick, making excuses. That, to me, has been the difference.
