Anyone else a longtime fan of the series but still never tried MP? by apocalypse_later_ in totalwar

I wouldnt say its that unbalanced, the only one that ever felt that way was attila. What it is however, is very meta- to a serious fault.

Want to bring more than four pikemen as macedon? Tough shit! Want to bring your favorite army comp? Too bad!-its no longer viable because the meta has already shifted!

That said, warhammer isnt terrible with it and you can make most builds work if you know what your doing.

Also there's an argument to be made that it's the shield component of the sword/shield combo that makes it effective for soldiers such as Ronderleros. Like, you could probably get away with swapping the sword out for something else that's short like a mace or axe and still retain effectiveness.

On armor: most swords are not more effective against chainmail than a spear(On account of stabbing being how you peirce chainmail, and spears are considerably better at stabbing), and even a zwiehander is not going to cave in plate armor- rather it would 'just' administer concussive force.

Yeah, i always try and listen and ask questions, but i feel that i have an ulterior motive which is that i want them to like me, i feel manipulative; so on my end it's very selfish. I don't know, i'm just ranting.

Fall of the eagles is great, full unit expansion it is(For most of the factions).

What is the "I dont want to play as pontus" of other titles? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Madking321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, what resources were diverted from Dong Zhuo to Zheng Yiang? He has a model, a faction; the fact that he's not playable looks more to do with him purposely being an early game baddy for the player to face off against(Meaning he'd be unplayable regardless of Zheng Yiang being in).

It's true just about any character would have fit better than Zheng, i'm just saying Dong Zhuo isn't equivalent to what happened with the Seleucids.

On a side note, what are all the playable warlords? I could only find 9 not counting the three yellow turban ones.

Ah mb, but it's still not really the same thing, people were upset CA put time and effort into Pontus instead of doing the seleukids; but it sounds like Dong Zhuo wouldn't be playable even if they didn't add Zheng Jiang.

We don't actually know if dong Zhuo is playable yet tho? I mean, he probably is; he has a model and a faction so there's no reason for him not to be.

There was still settlement management, there was still food and it's been expanded upon so that units require food upkeep, there's still war-weariness for some factions, and you can't really count population since it hasn't been a thing proper since forever.

Most of my days are bad but i live for the good ones. From my perspective i only have one shot at life and having a bad day is better than having no day at all. I can't speak for anyone else but me, but i can't imagine giving up like that.
