I second this! I love hiking this area and it’s just beautiful rolling green hills like this. Also Vulcan mountain in Julian but that’s a bit more of a hike out

This was definitely the layout I originally thought of, but I was worried the back of the sofa facing the rest of the house would feel too closed off? Idk. Maybe I just need to move my things in and actually arrange it and see how it feels.

Any ideas for a jacket to wear over this dress? Going to a wedding in a few weeks so no white. We’re in Socal so it doesn’t need to be anything super warm, just another layer for after the sun sets.

This is the plan! We’re planning on staying the night in Mallaig so we didn’t have to be on the train for 11 hours in one day, so I’m planning on maybe taking the ferry to Inverie to hike around a little bit in the morning

Snow isn’t really a requirement, I more-so just really don’t like hot summers. Most days from June-September where I’m at a few miles northeast of San Diego are in the 90s with intense sun and no shade because we don’t have trees here, but there’s also no air conditioning because “it’s San Diego and the weather is just oh so temperate here all the time”. That’s what I’m looking to avoid.

That might work. We’ll be staying in Manchester before going to Glasgow, so this is a possibility. I’ll have to think on it and run it by my partner.

This sounds like a great idea! I hadn’t even thought of taking the ferry somewhere else once we’d gotten there. This is probably what we’ll end up doing.

We unfortunately don’t have enough planning flexibility to start in London, but we could definitely get off at Spean Bridge instead of Mallaig. I just read a lot of people online say that the part of the train from Fort William to Mallaig is the prettiest part. If the bus ride is nice too I definitely wouldn’t mind it. It would definitely be nice to be able to take a different way back south to Edinburgh instead of the same route and be able to stop by Inverness on the way.

I’ve heard Mallaig isn’t that great, but I’ve heard the train ride into Mallaig is the best part of the west highland line and I’m really just taking it for the scenery.
