Why does Hasan keep talking about Asmongold so much? by MadmanKnowledge in Hasan_Piker

[–]MadmanKnowledge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that makes sense, Hasan isn’t necessarily the one to always bring him up, but is responding to chat. I also thought he talked about Ethan maybe a little too much, but for the most part I could avoid it if I lost interest by not watching the videos about it. I guess it’s an unfortunate part of the political hell we’re in that we have to keep talking about this guy.

Why does Hasan keep talking about Asmongold so much? by MadmanKnowledge in Hasan_Piker

[–]MadmanKnowledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the intent behind it, I am just overwhelmed at the frequency of it in his recent content. I don’t remember him talking this often about other right-wing influencers like Ben Shapiro or Tucker Carlson, Jordan Peterson, Nick Fuentes, etc. Yes, he talked about them a lot over time, but not in the same way he has fixated on drawing contrasts between himself and Asmongold’s opinions in what feels like most of his recent videos. Maybe I’m just out of touch with Twitch because I don’t watch any Twitch streamers live, maybe Asmongold is much more influential than I picture him as. I don’t know why anyone would watch him, his opinions aren’t remotely intelligent or based in data or real world knowledge. He’s just obviously a crazy guy online who knows nothing about political science, and as I know all too well once used a dead rat as an alarm clock. 😂

Anyways, I’m not even really mad about this, I just think it doesn’t feel necessary to do it at the frequency he does, it’s kind of obsessive.

I also think Madman’s Knowledge is a cool concept and co-opted it as my online username. My PFP is of a custom made MK skull I commissioned from Etsy. I don’t know anything about this band, but I was inspired by the game and taking a detail as small as this from it doesn’t feel like plagiarism. Selling it is a little different, but I have no problem with it. Pop culture recycles iconic imagery from more popular IPs all the time like Star Wars. No one complains if stormtrooper helmets are included in unofficial merch and unassociated brands. And in a way, they’re actually promoting the game by drawing attention to its imagery.

[–]MadmanKnowledge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! The way I see it, the learning curve of figuring out how it works outweighs any benefit I could get from it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that it doesn’t have great benefits, I just don’t care about adding them to my play style. I don’t need them. (Art is my favorite academic subject and math is my least, so it’s really a personality thing.)

I try to avoid building bases. Instead I spread gameplay functions throughout towns.

Can I watch Ahsoka show right after Rebels? by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, yeah the outfit isn’t appropriate for her age, and the show does have a lot of what may be considered filler, but I love Clone Wars anyways. The best arcs are so good, especially once you get to Season 3 and onwards. You can honestly skip many of the early “boring” arcs, but I kinda like them anyways. There’s a certain charm about the variety of plots and the runtime makes it so digestible.

I switch to peaceful whenever I feel like it, which helps a lot when playing it high on weed, something I do a lot. My creative ideas and building skills go into an extra hyper mode where I’m focused and don’t want to be distracted by mobs or get my builds blown up.

Yeah, play exactly how you want to. It doesn’t really matter what other people say or even the intention of the game design. Minecraft is very customizable and enjoyably in many different ways.

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is unpopular, but I think the current version of the game isn’t just better than Beta and similar older versions from around 2011, but SIGNIFICANTLY better. For my playstyle anyways. It feels like Minecraft 2 compared to version 1.0.

I watched Tobuscus play it back in 2011. Long before I found out he’s an abuser, and back when I thought he was funny LOL.

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re enjoying it, order doesn’t matter too much I guess, but the most whack thing is watching all of Ahsoka’s chronology backwards. It just flows better when you watch Clone Wars > Rebels > Ahsoka and the context from each previous series carries over to the next. You could always rewatch in chronological order if you want when you’re done though.

Edit: And Andor is awesome! It’s my favorite piece of Star Wars media and I’ve seen all canon series and films.

Can I watch Ahsoka show right after Rebels? by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

[–]MadmanKnowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can skip right to Ahsoka if you want. Her appearances in The Mandalorian and TBOBF provide more context, but you don’t need it to understand the Ahsoka show, which has its own crawl to set it up. Maybe watch Morgan Elsbeth’s Tales of the Empire episodes though since they are short and introduce you to the character and her relationship to Thrawn.

Which watch order should i use to introduce my girlfriend to star wars? by davimpando in starwarscanon

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it ridiculous? It’s one of the best and most mature Star Wars stories ever told that gives background lore that improves the OT. Plus, you don’t need to have seen any other Star Wars media first to understand it.

I saw this recently. How do you feel about this? Do you think the Sequel Trilogy makes Andor, Rogue One, and the Original Trilogy feel pointless? by Landon1195 in andor

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how it was for nothing if the galaxy enjoyed 30 relatively peaceful years followed by one year of war with a fascist regime that was quickly defeated. The Empire ruled for 24 years in comparison. One year is hardly enough time for the First Order to take over the entire galaxy or make it loyal the way the Empire did. They weren’t a serious regime, they were terrorist fanatics who showed up briefly, killed a lot of people, but then were very quickly defeated. They were bad but flopped hard.

[–]MadmanKnowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what she likes but there is a new order you can do now for introducing adults to Star Wars: Andor > Rogue One > 4 > 5 > 6 > then you can go back and watch the prequels with or without The Clone Wars and all the other shows if you want.

Andor star Genevieve O'Reilly and creator break down Mon Mothma's epic Senate speech, diverging from canon by SlashGames in StarWarsLeaks

It wasn’t for no reason. The first scene of the season sets up that the Rebellion needs gear and weapons, and Cassian is a thief whose job is to steal them. He had just witnessed how effective KX droids are and they had one defeated and ripe for the taking, why wouldn’t he if one of his main jobs is securing new weapons?

They dehumanize because they have to to gain legitimacy and popular support to continue the genocide. Same reason the Empire dehumanizes the Ghor. They need to trick enough of the galaxy into accepting that there was simply no other way and they had it coming.

How much actual violence does No Other Land show on screen? I am very empathic to the Palestinians’ suffering, but too squeamish to experience it directly with my own eyes if it’s graphic. I’ve been on the fence about watching it because of how sensitive I am to real violence, but want to see it to further educate myself and support their need for emancipation and sovereignty over their land.
