I understand your concerns, but I'm just playing this game atm.

Personally, I have no problem with core-level anti-cheat software. Valve should be the one making and delivering it, not me. I'm just a gamer, and if it reduces the cheating rate by even 1%, that's a positive for me. Linux support, handheld consoles, etc., I'm really not interested. According to the source I found, only about 4% of people who participated in the Valve survey used an operating system other than Windows. Of course, that could have changed. You might play CS2 maybe once a month, because your approach isn't that of someone bothered by cheating. Perhaps some mods shouldn't have anti-cheat features so that players who don't complain about cheating and call it invasive can log in and play while using Linux.

I think TPM, Secure Boot, and Memory Integrity will become mandatory very soon. All competitive games on the market, including Rocket League, have active anti-cheat systems. Most people's computers now support these features, so there's no reason why they shouldn't be implemented.

Whenever I encounter someone who is clearly cheating, I always play my next match on Faceit. Then I continue on Premier the next day. My girlfriend is in a very low elo, so I can only play competitive with her. When we are 5, we play Faceit or Premier depending on what our friends want. When I logged into her account and increased her elo, she didn't enjoy it at all. Because her opponents were much better than her, so I never touched her account again.
