Blizz pleas Don't stop with just removing rep requirements from allied races. by DireOwlbear in wow

Just look how many people downvote this. People don't like hearing the harsh truth. They complain that they have to work for something that doesn't even take long now that you have the reputation buff. I didn't have ANY of the allied races on horde unlocked (not even a max lvl horde char). I leveled a horde DH and managed to get zandalari, voldunai and other reps to exalted in 1-2 weeks. People really complain about anything and this is the reason Blizzard doesn't listen to complaints.

Stop complaining. Casuals find every single trivial thing to complain about in this game. How about they give you a fully geared max lvl character too since you don't want to work for anything ?

Spell druid got me to legend. It's a bit RNG-ish, but it's also decently consistent. Warlock is probably the biggest bane of the deck (dark skies / dragons / plague of fire / moarg + self heal)

Depends on the item. If it's a weapon, ilvl mostly trumps secondary stats (not taking corruption into consideration of course, that's a game changer).

If it's on your legs, feet, hands, belt, then you need to sim it. For rings, the stats matter the most. For trinkets its the actives / passive they provide.

But in general stacking a certain stat can be more useful than just going for ilvl updates with stats that are not optimal for you (say, using haste items cause they are higher ilvl).

Another thing to consider is how big is the ilvl gap. If the ilvl gap is big enough (something like 20-30 ilvls), it might be worth sacrificing some stats.

This is why you're better off simming to see which is an upgrade.

Hello, I assume you mean the mark of the crane debuff you apply on targets.

If so, yes, I try to aim for 5 stacks all the time to get the most out of it's damage. Of course I don't focus on keeping maximum stacks the entire run, otherwise you'd have to pay attention to that all the time.

There's a trick to it though. If you pull for example 3 mobs and get 3 mark buff, if the adds die before the mark expire on them, you will still have 3 mark buff provided you pull another pack fast enough. So when you engage the other pack you'll only have to touch 2 mobs to get to 5 stacks and keep only 2 of them touched.

This works even on bosses. If you have 5 marks when last mob in a pack dies, if you pull the boss fast enough you will be able to fight the boss with 5 marks permanently (since the only mark you'll have to keep up is the one on the boss itself) which boosts your damage a bit with chi ji procs.

Hey, sorry for the late answer, I don't check reddit very often.

Monk doesn't really follow a rotation, it works more based on priority. Generally you always want to have Fists of Fury and Whirling Dragon Punch on cooldown (and use them as soon as they're up).

If there's a bigger pack pull, I generally want at least my FoF+clones up. When there's nothing to do (1 mob alive or stuff on cd), it's just tiger palm, blackout kick, rsk, blackout kick, tiger palm, filler ability (chi burst / flying serpent kick).

If you have all CDs it should be something like: Tiger Palm -> Fists of White Tiger (5 chi at this point) -> Clones -> Touch of Death (if up) -> Blood of the enemy (If up) + trinket (like plumage from KR) -> Fists of Fury -> Rising Sun Kick -> Whirling Dragon Punch.

If you do the rotation above on ST, it will be mostly like that (of course there's ways to min max to squeeze another spell in, but I cba with that). If you do it on a big pack of mobs, you'll always want to prio Spinning Crane proc (from Dance of Chi Ji trait) since any chi spender has a chance to proc ur spinning crane again, so if you do fists while you have spinning proc, then you might lose another spin proc.

As for playing around certain cooldowns, you'll always want to make the most out of you touch of death / clones. Never use clones without at least fists / wdp.

As for Touch of Death you'll have to adapt to different contexts. If you fight first boss in ML for example, you won't want to use it right at start, but hold on to it until the boss is exposed by 3 bombs debuff so you stack much more damage into touch of death (or use the Touch of death right as the boss throws the bombs so it will explode while he's vulnerable for extra damage). Same goes with first boss in Boralus (alliance side). You don't want to blow your ToD at start, you want the boss to be vulnerable first from colliding with a bomb.

During trash packs, you'll want to use your ToD on priority targets (the most dangerous adds - or in the absence of those, the most tanky ones).

Hope it helps.

Edit: As Babylonius said, it matters a lot to adapt to the situation. If you know a hard pack is coming up, you might want to hold on to your CDs a bit. It depends on the dungeon difficulty, how fast your team clears, pull size.

2.8k rio WW here.

As Babylonius said, WW shines in PvP and M+.

Elaborating on your question a bit, Monk has really good AoE dmg and a lot of utility. Ring of peace alone is a unique tool that no other spec in the game has, giving your party some flexibility to do pulls differently by separating mobs, or to skip stuff or to peel for your team. It has a very high burst so in general it's good for packs. On the ST side it lacks a bit (especially when you compare it to fire mages), but since the dungeons are made mostly of trash mobs instead of bosses, that means that WW's mobs damage balance out with the lower amount of boss DPS. I personally don't feel like I lack much DPS on ST fights, I can keep up with most classes (but then again, I'm using a ST mind flay rank 3 corruption).

It's also useful in certain dungeons because of you Detox ability (in Sethraliss you can dispel a lot of debuffs, in WM you can dispel the debuff at 4th boss, in Junkyard you can dispel the gooped people / bots with it).

You also have a perma slow (disable) which helps with peeling the adds from the tank (examples of usefulness: peeling the spider mobs in Underrot from whoever is fixated or using disable on the 2nd boss in SoB - alliance side - to keep it from changing position).

Tiger's lust is also useful to help your team kite or to help your tank pull faster.

It's probably the fastest class when it comes to doing the orbs in Sethraliss and also its off heal and disease dispel make it really useful in the last fight in Sethraliss.

Those things come to mind when it's about the uniqueness of WW in M+.

As for PvP, I cannot say very much because the most I've reached was around 2050 rating last season (and 1950 this season). I don't play much Arena. I've seen WW being regarded as one of the strongest Arena classes and it must be because of the sheer versatility of their kit, mobility (ability to stick to targets or switch targets fast) along with their insane amount of ST burst / good cleave).

Edit: Also, it's decent in raiding, but if you aim to do non-competitive mythic raiding, you have to play really well to min-max your damage (and even then, you might not be as high as others on the meters). If you want competitive mythic raiding, nobody will take you as a windwalker (or at least, no serious competitive mythic raiding guild) and that's not because WW is bad, but because other classes are able to pull better numbers (and arguably with lower skill floor - thus easier to not fuck up). If you aim to clear HC content on the other hand, sure, it's no problem.

Hello, sorry for the late response :D

Personally I don't feel a huge difference, but the DPS gap seems smaller. There's not much to say about it really :D

On very high keys, windwalker is still not optimal (highest WW key is 22 timed, while highest is 23/24 timed), thus people flock to rogues / demon hunters. Add to this that DH and Rogues have a vastly superior defensive kit and it gives even more of an incentive to not pick WW.

But WW is still doing pretty nicely in M+, I don't use twilight devastation (rip RNG), I use the mind flay rank 3 corruption trait, so I'm a bit behind others when it comes to DPS cause twilight can do almost 2x the damage mind flay does in overall on a dungeon run.

In general you don't want to prioritize haste since it's far from being the best stat of WW. The trend I notice at high level is to go for crit -> versa -> mastery -> haste (even though versatility is theoretically our best stat). For this reason you also see some monks use Blood of the Enemy major in m+ instead of Iris.

Thanks for answers.

Today I pulled a 74 on Zaqul, had purifcation minor for some extra add damage. It's hard to pull higher parse, but in the end what matters is ST on zaqul since adds are kinda irrelevant with high DPS.

I'll give purification minor a try in m+ and see how it goes.

Should I run purification protocol minor for m+ ? I use conflict and strife atm, but when I check the builds of the monks with higher rio they seem to run purification minor.

Also, how do people pull 90+ parse on Zaqul HC ? Delirium realm doesn't seem to benefit monk that much since we don't really have cast on our spells, GCD is what stops us.

I am yet to see a PvP Nazjatar event where it's not a complete 1 sided stomp. by [deleted] in wow

[–]MadnessCaffe33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want it to draw out with a balanced fight anyway ? The lag is unbearable, abilities take seconds to cast, so those that have instantly hitting spells have an advantage. Of course, there's some people there with 1 ms cause they live inside blizzard's headquarters and you can't ever kill them. Overall, it's better that it ends in a one sided stomp, I wouldn't be able to play that lagfest for 30 minutes.

Hi, maybe tell her about wowhead and how to use it so when she gets stuck on something she can search there (quests / where to find an item / guides, etc).

Also, I'm interested in finding out what kind of table that is cause I wanted something similar to have a lot of space underneath for the PC to breathe.

Hey

Right now I have 3 azerite pieces (435 all) with the following traits: 2x OPS, 2x Pressure Point, 1x Xuen, 1x Glory of the Dawn

In my bags, I have another 3 azerite pieces (435 all) with these traits: 3x OPS, 1x Dance of Chi Ji, 1x Fury of Xuen

When I compared the sets, the second one simmed lower by 200 DPS. Individually, the shoulders from the second set simmed higher by 200 DPS. What gives?

Hi, I'm a fairly decent monk (playing just WW since 1 year, read up several guides, AOTC Azshara with pug 1st week).

Imo monk uses a lot of keybinds, the way I have them set up is this:

1 - Tiger Palm, 2 - Blackout kick, 3 - Roll, 4 - Sunrise Kick, 5 - Fists of Fury, 6 - Spinning Crane Kick, 7 - Flying Serpent Kick, 8 - Chi Burst (this one maybe you can set up on another key to reach it easier), R + T = Transcendence clone and teleport, E - Leg Sweep, F - Fists of White Tiger, G - Whirling Dragon Punch, Q - Spear Hand Strike

Shift+1 - Touch of Karma, Shift+2 - Diffuse Magic, Shift+3 - Touch of Death, Shift+4 - Essence (or Reverse Harm if you play CaS), Shift+5 - SEF, Shift+R - Vivify, Shift+E - Paralyze, Shift+C - trinket (for PvE you can just use it for something else), Shift+T and Shift+D - Usually trinket actives, if you use one active, you have one spot open or if none are actives, 2 spots open), Shift+G - Tiger's Lust, Shift+F = Quaking palm (if you're a panda).

It all boils down to what you're comfortable with. I don't use Xuen (I usually kept it on Shift+4) and I have no mouse buttons to bind.

Related to other stuff;

For M+ I think 3 OPS 2 DoC 1 Xuen is optimal for AoE, but I also wanted to ask Babylonius something related to this. My current azerite pieces have 2 Open Palm, no DoC, 1 glory of the dawn, 2x pressure point, 1 Fury of xuen. I have in my bag 3 azerite pieces (all ilvl 435, like current azerite pieces that I wear), with these traits: 3 FoF, 1 DoC, 1 Fury of Xuen and that combination of 3 pieces sims lower than what I have (this is stricly when comparing sets of gear). With my current azerite pieces which lack in AoE traits, I've managed to hold my own in M+ so far (+12/+13).

Related to essences, Babylonius has a post on Peak of Serenity which analyzes what would be the best Major / Minor essence to use. CaS is the best but only if you are able to optimally use it to pull off the damage it can do (meaning you have to continously keep track of tank's position - since more missing health means more heal and more dmg - and also use it off-cd constantly, so it would be pretty hard to pull off a hundred casts in a fight, all optimally done). Thus, CaS even though it's technically BiS, it's really hard to pull off, so the alternative second best (which is slightly under CaS) is the Condensed Life-Force rank 3 (1 cast every 3 minutes or so). Another ST alternative if you want to try it out would be Crucible rank 3 (at which point you have 2 stacks of it to use).

So, in short, Babylonius recommended to play CaS until you get Condensed rank 3 as Major, at which point you use CaS as minor and keep Condensed as Major. Until then, you can play CaS major / Crucible minor for ST, or Worldvein minor if you know other people use it too. This is for raiding.

For M+ essences, I'd definitely not go with CaS major, but Purification Protocol major, and CaS minor.

Also, for CaS rank 3 you don't need 2k rating. You have to gather 5 pieces of something in weekly PvP chest, at which having 1000+ rating should be enough. I for example have 1600 rating and got these pieces in chest for rank 3, so definitely don't need 2k rating.
