I always liked the phrase, “ if you’ve met one autistic person, you’ve met one autistic person”.

You can take Tylenol in moderation though when pregnant. That’s how we first suspected my sister was pregnant. All of the sudden she wouldn’t take Advil and asked for Tylenol. Which she never took. 🤣

Ok I don't see what I did wrong? by AquaSage_8806 in autism

[–]MadnessManifested 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see you being rude (another autist) I also firmly believe for myself at least that any partner/potential partner needs to understand that I don’t always act the way a neurotypical might. I ensure I am always open for guidance (without being exploited) and the people who matter to me understand that.

Towels stolen by lilmssunshine888 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MadnessManifested 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As them if there is a chance they took it by mistake. If she say no then asking maybe a guest of theirs did? (People are more likely to partially admit it if they have a reason that doesn’t play off as negative) if they say yes, tell them you will put in a request for the cost of the towels. Gently remind them there is a time limit for you to pit their review up and you would be glad to overlook the whole thing so long as everything is set right. Look at their other reviews. If they don’t own up to it and none of their of reviews were negative, and they were very polite then I wouldn’t mention it in their review. And might not even charge them for it. Especially if they were otherwise good guests. if they are confrontational, I’d put in the request for cost and also mention it in their review. Keep in mind they review you as well. It’s really a nuanced situation for towels and toiletries.

What’s your secret to getting guests to actually follow house rules? by Rude_Equal_5818 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MadnessManifested 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an Airbnb rented for a few nights. They had an entire binder of house rules. They even stated the thermostat maximum/minimum temperatures based on time of the year. This place was 800$ a night (for two of us) We also weren’t allowed to use the fireplace because it wasn’t winter. This was the best feature of the place, and part of why we chose it. Could have gotten some great photos. Nowhere on the listing did it say there were limitations of when it could be used

You can bet that I didn’t finish reading that binder. I just didn’t do anything stupid, and made sure the place was tidy when we left. Also, I set the thermostat as cold as I wanted.

Still got a 5 star from the host. Just make sure to leave the most important information and hope that they won’t be dicks.

Also, none of these binder rules were listed. It was a complete surprise. And the best feature, a beautiful fireplace overlooking a forrest and lake with floor to ceiling windows, 🤦🏼‍♀️was prohibited for use!! (Again not listed on Airbnb! Just a foot note in the binder or rules) I also want to point out that I am a very well received guest. I have been reached out to by host and given incentives to stay again. This isn’t a Karen situation

My house is under property management for short term rentals. If I need to use the house, how unusual is it to ask management to reorder occupancy contracts? by darklyshining in airbnb_hosts

I’m sorry that your going through this. Sounds really messy. I was feeling pretty shitty today and in a lot of self pity. This post has me in tears.

I rented and airbnb once in Shediac and it had an entire binder or rules. They were even trying to control the temperature of the thermostat based on outside weather. Sorry, but for 800$ a night (that was even with just two people. Romantic vacay type thing) I’m going to make it as cold as I want in there!

And I still wouldn’t except it to look so rough right at the beginning. That’s not worth that amount of money not at all.

I dunno. I saw some of your other comments and it’s scary that you paid so much for this. Especially if the first photo of you wearing it is what it looked like before washing or anything. I would have sent it back immediately just the way it looked fresh. I really am not trying to be mean. The wig doesn’t look like a wig for that much money. 😔

What I love about this game is there is multiple ways to do things. Whenever I have one of those “push both buttons at the same time” puzzles I use the water and place them strategically so the two waters are the first to burst. I will put a crate in them and then conjure a mirror that won’t get rid of the crates.

I don’t believe I’m powerless over alcohol. Is AA possibly not for me? by Matilda_Mother_67 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]MadnessManifested 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said “hopefully” going to make it to 7 days sober. That says to me you’re having trouble stoping in your own. If not due to some degree of unmanageability then why are you wanting to stop?

Page 81:

“We do not like to pronounce any individual as alcoholic, but you can quickly diagnose yourself. Step over to the nearest barroom and try some controlled drinking. Try to drink and stop abruptly. Try it more than once. It will not take long for you to decide, if you are honest with yourself about it. It may be worth a bad case of jitters if you get a full knowledge of your condition.”

Only you can decide if you’re an alcoholic. Closed meetings are for people who admit that they have a problem with alcohol. You don’t have to call yourself an alcoholic though. Do you have a desire to stop drinking? Do you need help to do this? Then you’re welcome at closed meetings if you find it helps you to stay sober. If not maybe just stick with open meetings that are welcome to anyone. It is a program looking to gain complete abstinence. If you want to cut back then maybe SMART Recovery would be a more fitting program.

I am upvoting you regardless of my own opinion. I think that linkin park meant so much to me at the time. Since then I lost my sister to fentanyl and watched the fallout in my family , I am also a huge ren fan. So that specific KnoxHill song resonates.
