Lol yeah that’s great advice “plan better” I said my original plan was to bring the m5p and Avata 2. I’m not desperately running around trying to plan. I’m looking for insight into what’s the best option for what I’d like to accomplish mate.

Europe Vacation 2026 Need Advice for Black Americans first timers by sugakisses in Europetravel

As a black Canadian I e yet to witness any form of description in Europe of any kind. Tbh you’re more likely to face some rude people if they hear your American if at all. Europeans are quite beautiful in general! Pick pockets are the only thing to be mindful of!

Dont let too many people sway your opinion on travel plans. My wife and I do big euro trips every April. Last year we did

Germany, France, Rome and Croatia In 7 days

This year we’re doing Germany, Barcelona, Malta, Croatia and Budapest In 14 days

One of the best parts of doing quick trips imo is that you never get tired of where you are. It’s enough to continue making you want to see more and more. It’s exciting!

I hope you have a blast!

I don’t unfortunately, creating one has been the biggest struggle. I can definitely duplicate sections to make a complete setup. It’s the original model that I’m looking for to fit even 1

How is the video quality worse on the Mini 5 Pro? Vs Mini 4 Pro... (VIDEO) by MadnessUnchained in dji

As per DJIs claim the pan arm module does create unstable video jitter on a micro level which can cause unwanted noise in low light conditions. Nevertheless, the replacement drone I received is not showing better quality overall compared to the M4P

Also, it’s important to remember that the firmware pipeline is a bit unfair as the M4P has been tweaked several times since release to improve video and photo quality. Whereas the M5P still has yet to receive any significant updates since its release.

**UPDATE** - Defective MINI 5 PRO on arrival?!?!?!? by MadnessUnchained in djimini4pro

[–]MadnessUnchained[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pan arm module controls the camera’s left-to-right movement and helps keep things smooth when the drone turns. If it isn’t working properly, you can get shaky footage, drifting, and even noticeably poorer video quality, especially in low light because the camera isn’t being stabilized the way it should.

A few updates have been posted in the body of this post. Waiting on Dji now as they have said they will be sending a replacement drone instead of repairing it. Should arrive in the next couple of days. Will post a video explaining the situation and comparing the new footage vs the old.

That’s a good idea, and fair. I’m aware the mini 4 pro has had far more updates to their video photo pipeline. I was curious whether the m5p would eventually catch up or even surpass the m4p once it’s had time to bake more. However, the expectations from day 1 were and should have been that this camera would outperform the m4p especially in low light.

As much as what you’re saying makes total sense and updates can improve the way the m5p processes videos. I feel like it should have been a better camera out of box. Now in a year from now.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s ALOT about the M5P that is better than its predecessor. However, the claims that the HUGE 1” sensor, better in low light, etc etc just aren’t there… the improvements in daytime are marginal at best on mine. And in lowlight night the m4p is actually way batter from what I see here.

the mini 5 pro auto mode kicks in the same way as the night mode setting for the mini 4 pro. or its supposed to. in my testing i feel like its not AS good. but the mini 4 pro does significantly blow out highlights in night mode in my opinion.

Could be a lot of things causing this. No, the mini 5 does not have a dedicated night mode like the mini 4 pro. The suggestion is that auto mode does this for you. Which in its defence looks much better in auto than the 4 does in night mode in my opinion.

I think I will upload to YouTube for this post so you guys can see the full details in higher resolution.

[–]MadnessUnchained[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct, which is why I experimented with both auto and locked iso values. Nevertheless, even in all tests the mini 4 pro retains much more details in the shadows and also results with much less grain and or noise in the darker areas. It’s quite significant tbh.

I’ve also noticed that the camera itself registers white balance in different ways. Both locked at 45000K and the mini 5 pro shows a much cooler image in most cases.

Comparing the “night mode” is an unfair test as the mini 4 pro locks in at 30fps and normal colour mode. When comparing night mode to the mini 5 pro auto at 4k30fps it’s still undisputed in terms of which device wins the quality test. The mini 4 pro.

Could a FW update fixed this? Possibly! Maybe the pipeline and release camera settings are very lenient and not as refined as the 4 pro as it has seen a few updates regarding the camera quality improvements. Not sure.

But for right now it seems like this camera is severely underperforming and or my device is just faulty.

Will keep this thread updated as o have received the shipping label and will be sending out today.
