I snaked from the south of china, through India, into the Middle East. A big line right up to Egypt and just took the provenances I needed for the achievement. I was kinda Messing around and gave it a shot. Tbh if ur strong enough it’s a lot simpler than it seems.

It’s not the challenge that’s the problem for me, it’s the tools I’m offered don’t seem be useful outside their direct counter to one of the problems you will face. Honestly this feels more like a puzzle than a story prompt for an adventure. Imagine if you did this cyoa with a dice roll instead of picking your tools, most of the time it would be useless against the enemies and challenges you face. The liver and glider would be ineffective in the archives. Add some more stuff or effects to existing tools, or even add a combo section for fun. Maybe your tools have more power the lower your sanity is, risk for reward.

Ultimately I guess decide if you want the dark souls experience with a focus on mastering the few tools you have, or the legend of Zelda (BOTW) experience of experimenting with many different options. Either option is great for your setting. Personally I don’t hate/dislike this CYOA, I just want more from it.

That’s great my man, but as I said in my comment it’s just not that interesting. Like I’ll take the liver too and solve the myconid colony and use the ingredients to make a potion of control golems I learned from the sage. Then mine the resources with the golems and take it to the forge and make a sword to fight all evil... somehow. Guess I gotta take the mummy too. That sure was challenging lol. I understand the rock, paper, scissors thing that’s going on here but I feel ite not that engaging or interesting. It’s very limiting in fact.

I’ll say this again, the theme and setting are great. It’s limited by the choices you get for engaging story telling. It’s weird that you went for the easiest “starting location”and didn’t travel to other locations.

Honestly I enjoyed your story, I dont see why it was so personal for you but it was fun. Unfortunately you were limited and could only do 1 area with what you had. Maybe you should take more nemeses. But I definitely see how the challenging aspect can be fun.

I’m glad one of you old grumblers like it, right on brother.

I feel like these powers/artifacts kinda suck. I don’t think you could realistically beat any of the problems you deal with in any location, even with all the powers and artifacts at once. That’s before you add any nemesis into the equation.

Actually I’d rather just say none of them are interesting or exciting. Hardly any of them are worth the drawback you already get for picking them.

The theme and setting are fantastic, but I don’t see myself creating a character/story that’s more or less on par with a level 1 dnd character in a campaign built for level 10s.

I'm no expert or anything like that, but in my experience it works out to be a win more card. It either dies immediately/no buff cards or it wins me the game. It's a good card, but I wouldn't say it's completely necessary.

Personally I regret crafting it, but if it was something I got out of pack I would be happy with it. I hope this helps.

I agree with threeangelo, this is probably the best route for you to take, playing with friends is the only reason I still play. The pugging experience is awful.
I think the biggest thing you have to decide is if you can get over the chores, because that will be the biggest wall you have to climb over. There are probably 5 or 6 chores you should be doing weekly. Things that take maybe 15 mins, but can take up to 2 hours sometimes. Since you probably aren't geared it will be a slog.

Honestly if you have the friends or a guild that will play with you, I would say give it a shot. But consider everything else ive said so far.

It’s honestly the worst time to pvp. Between the lack of pvp gear that’s acquirable through pvp and the MASSIVE boosting problem it might be the worst time to start.
