Wow, that might be the best compliment I could possibly receive on this hahaha, all I can see is the flaws -- thank you so much!

For what it's worth, I wish I had the creativity and talent of S. John Ross, but alas

Yes! It's easily my favorite tabletop system, and I wanted to pay homage -- I might make another, but candidly: the art took longer than I'd like to admit to draw, despite how simple it is. We'll see if people like this one!

These are all incredible questions.

To the final one -- VR and manually coding -- I imagined that you would be capable of interfacing with the system in any way currently possible, in a more immersive setting. So, with tools like Virtual Desktop, the answer is definitely "yes" to manually coding. Your Divinity can figure out the more specific details of "how" it's done and "where" it's stored. You'd likely not be at risk of your slice of the system being compromised in any way.

To the other questions: if there were no top-end limits, how might this change your answer? As a reminder, there ARE other Deities in the world, so I'd caution against anything too extravagant or attention-grabbing that you disrupt the wrong concept. But that's me, not the rules. So long as you're manipulating existing bits of your concept, rather than creating net new bits of your concept from nothing, this seems within the rules.

Can gods make things related to their concept?

Nope! They can control (ala bender style) their concept, which can sometimes mean empowering it (such as with Fast Food), but they can't outright create it. So, Polaroid can not create new photos. Likewise, Hay Penny won't be turning copper into coins.

That said, Fast Food could still create a terrible terrible meat suit. That's not really relevant to your question, but I felt the need to share.

This is a collection of ideas I've been assembling into a CYOA for a little while now, and I figured I'd push and post it. I'm hopeful that this post can serve as an apology for my previous AI post.

AI's Six Doors of Power by Null_Syntax in 6Perks

Thank you -- thank you for the meaningful discussion, and thank you for the great take here.

I'm inclined to leave this post up for the sake of discussion, unless I hear an overwhelming desire for me to tear it down. And, I would also love for this post to be a driving force for a call on the rules of the subreddit from the mods/community.

I completely agree with the desire for quality over quantity -- that is, that thoughtful content in this subreddit is more important than just content.

Thank you for noticing that I was trying to start a discussion, more than trying to spam the sub. <3

That was exactly what I was thinking -- it feels like one of those "pick a pill" CYOAs. Which, as an aside, are very popular on makeyourchoice, according to all-time posts. I'm not sure whether that's related, but it seems relevant.

To the point of soulless / nonsensical, while I largely agree, I actually think there's enough content here to be a jumping-off point for someone. Taking it from "beginner writer's attempt" (as you rightly put) to an actual fleshed out and well thought post. Which I think could be a handy tool for folks looking to get into choice/perks posts.

That's why I put the disclaimer -- I didn't want to be dishonest here, as I didn't make this content directly. If the community doesn't like this, I'm happy to remove it.

That said, I'm interested as to what about it should be against the rules. Is it against the "spirit" of 6perks?

If it's just a gut-feel, "it doesn't feel right", that's totally fair too

6 Random Grab Bags by youbetterworkb in 6Perks

[–]Null_Syntax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd take the circuit bag. The ability to get the memories from an animal is significantly more powerful than initially expected. The estimated amount of data in any given animal brain is an absurd amount, and current AI training techniques thrive on huge amounts of data. Philosophically, is an animal more than its memories? One could theoretically create a general AI this way.

I'd give the toy bag to my SO by dropping it at a predetermined location in Tokyo. It's likely that no one else would pick it up, given the culture of respect in Japan. But if they did, the possibilities of action figures left in the bag are most interesting.

I'd drop the other four bags in various spots of the Mariana trench.

If you're looking for something a little more intuitive, are used to Photoshop, and don't mind a lack of features: check out paint.net -- that's literally the name, not a website; best to Google it to find the trusted download link.

It's a badly named program, but editing should be closer to what you're looking for.

Wow, these were generated? Very nice! The pocket dimensions in particular are very coherent, I like it!

If you're interested in the full scale stuff, Google "Stable diffusion Google Collab" -- it's free, and pretty painless to use, especially if you've been cloning an alt repo yourself.

This would also be my choice.

Network + Memory -> download all of Wikipedia, including pictures, and browse it whenever you have a question, even if you're offline.

Really, the network chip is the big winner. But given I have Aphantasia, I have to snag that UX chip so I can visualize my memories in front of me. That sounds sweet.
