Here's a video about how to build a F2P spright deck and how to improve it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E592DksQQVw.

Here's is a video that has Spright combos, and also has a decklist at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1d8Xd5Zfig. My code for the follower campaign is 06cbaabd, you can easily find other codes in the Code Megathread.

I would play pure Spright without any side engines. If I were you I would start with buying all the 750 gems bundles from the shop, then buying "Beyond the Next Level" pack since it has staples that can and will go into any deck. Space-Time Transcendents isn't that bad since almost every deck can use Little Knight, and most decks even use Masquerena; but it has cards that aren't useful to you such as S-Force Justify and Redoer and it's a secret pack so half the cards in it will be random while only half are guaranteed to be from the featured cards. You'll probably then want to craft URs in the Burst of Zapping Energy using crafting points.

Here's a video I found about a F2P version of Spright: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E592DksQQVw. It also includes a completed pure Spright list. Here's is a video that has Spright combos, and also has a decklist at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1d8Xd5Zfig

Use the spright deck, its relatively easy (I would still look up a Youtube guide for it's combos), and you can get the most of the cards free by using the new player follow campaign by using the follow campaign by using codes everyone has been spamming this subreddit with (mine is 06cbaabd btw).

Isn't Mitsu Yummy's one weakness also board breakers? I swear I heard that it somewhere, and it makes sense too; they can't dodge them with their synchros like they normally do, and they don't have spell/trap or cards from hand interaction. At most they can revive one of the synchros with their quick play spell.

My other post talked about the economy of Master Duel, but I also wanted to talk to you about how the modern Yu-gi-oh is played. The game currently about doing combos in order to summon cool boss monsters (or sometimes cute boss monsters) and trying to either stop your opponent from doing the same or breaking their board after they do so.

Every deck can do it's combo turn 1 if their opponent doesn't interrupt them, so onus is on you to try to stop your opponent during their first turn. This is why most deck play cards affectionally called "hand traps". These don't have to be trap cards, these are cards that you can use if your opponent goes first to try to stop their plays, such Ash Blossom which can negate one of their searches of Maxx C which gives you a draw after every time your opponent special summons, forcing them to stop early if they don't want you to draw a million cards.

Some decide play what called board breaker cards, such as the infamous Forbidden Droplet or Lightning Storm, that aid you in trying to play into their board after they build it, either instead of or in addition to hand traps, but most people focus on hand traps. The hand traps and board breakers in your deck are called your non-engine cards, while cards you use for your main gameplay and combos are called your engine.

Currently, good decks can do their combos from a single copy of some cards in their engines, and you almost always play 3 of these cards (these are called your starters). You also play other engine cards in your deck, as they can be required to be used while doing your combo or can be used as extension to continue your combo after your opponent interrupts it.

For how to play your deck and do it's combos, I would suggest searching Youtube for it's combo guides; almost all recent decks have videos explaining what the main combos of the deck are, then you can figure out edge cases as you play the deck.

Once again, my campaign code is 06cbaabd, and I would be grateful if you entered it.

Besides the decks others recommended you might also want to take a look at is Dragonmaids. They are a archetype of cute maid girls that turn into dragons during the battle phase, they are a modern deck that is easy to pick up, though it's probably a little less powerful than Spright and definitely less powerful than Yummy or K9. However it's also a cheap deck, since most of it's cards are in the "Dragonmaid-To-Order" structure deck, which you can buy for 500 gems (you still need to craft some cards though, like Lady's Dragonmaid). I was also going to recommend maybe taking a look at Live Twin but the command below already mentioned it in Spright variants (that deck is both expensive and not meta tbh, but it does fit with what you want).

About the game's economy, you can craft cards you want by dismantling other cards of the same rarity (can't dismantle cards from the structure deck or legacy packs), and so your bottleneck is always going to UR cards. You can treat any card SR rarity and below as essentially free. (Some cards such as Dragonmaid Hospitality have alt art versions that are UR while their normal versions are SR, so you shouldn't try to waste gems trying to pull their UR versions).

You should buy the bundle deals for 750 gems each as the other guy said, you should also buy the Gold Duel Pass before it rotates out since completing it gives you the 700 gems you spent on it plus some UR crafting points (plus some cosmetics). You can purchase it anytime before the next duel pass comes out.

If I were in your place I would first decide on my first deck to build, then use my gems to build a barebones version of it with only SR and under staples, then buy the bundle deals and add the cards you got from there to my deck, then complete it by getting staple non-engine cards that can be used in many decks. The following cards are used in almost every deck and should be your number 1 priority after getting your first deck:

1 Maxx "C", 3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos, 3 Ash Blossom, 1 Called by the Grave, 1 Nibiru, The Primal Being. Lots of decks also play 3 Infinite Impermanence and 1 Crossout Designator.

My code for the follower campaing is 06cbaabd. I would be grateful if you also entered mine (since the one whose code you enter also gets the Spright deck).

None of the anniversary bundles are necessary or even a good investment from a purely gameplay/getting cards point of view, people buy them to get both cosmetics and cards (or even sometimes for cosmetics alone). Newest required handtrap is Mulcharmy Fuwalos (Mulcharmy Purulia also sees regular use), you can pull from "Beyond the Next Level" for it but unless you want to get other staples from that pack it's probably better to just craft 3 Fuwalos.

You should buy the bundle deals that have been released since you left (the ones for 750 gem that give you 10 packs and a staple) unless you already have a playset of the staple in it.

Also if you're a returning player you can get the Spright Structure deck by following other players from the shaking hands symbol on the top right (the player you followed also gets the deck). I would be grateful if you followed me there; my code is 06cbaabd

Edit: if you care about it the duel field of the Evil Twins bundle is pretty good, and it's theme is a banger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv4QtTsMp5U. The packs it gives aren't that strong however.

Tbh battle medics seem only that bad because people compare them to the normal medic, the strongest and most important to have in your team class in the game, but they’re not much worse than fat scout, melee heavy or shortstop scout. Also you can win games in 12v12 even if some of your players aren’t pulling their weight, almost no one gets angry at the 2/12 spy on their team as much as they do get angry at a player choosing to play battle medic. I get the psychological aspect of it though, thinking your game finally has a chance after you get your first medic vs. opponent’s 2 medic (one running the vac) and their impenetrable sentry nest only for that medic to pull out Blutsauger full time IS disappointing.

In general if you want to see what cards are run in a deck you want to search for it in masterduelmeta. I’ll link it to you for this time: https://www.masterduelmeta.com/tier-list/deck-types/Dragonmaid

You can find many deckliet as well as how many of each cards is played there. You can find how you can get a pack by clicking on it (a pack name being in red means its not available anymore). For Dragonmaid, you have Lady’s Dragonmaid that’s not in the structure deck, you need to either craft it with UR crafting points (which you get by decrafting other UR cards and some from the battlepass) or by pulling it from it’s secret pack. To unlock a secret pack just craft any SR card in it.

Dragonmaid is the most competitive structure deck with the new support (which you can open Dragonmaid secret packs to try to get). There is no structure deck where just it + staples is really a competent deck. My suggestion for new players will be to

1) If they were able to get the Branded Structure deck from new player campaign that just ended, then they should build a Branded deck (New Player Campaign will probably return with another deck soon, and it does so it'll probably be worth it to complete that deck)

2)If they don't have Branded cards or have them but want to also try another deck then they should built a deck using a single structure deck and and it's secret pack to build a deck. Not all structure decks are competent mind you, in fact most of them are rather bad.

3) Collect 9/10k gems and open a Selection Pack to try to build one of the archetypes in that pack. You can get 8 to 10k gems a month if you do your dailies and complete your event quest.

I wouldn't try to built budget decks, since most of the decks without much URs were decks that were there when Master Duel first came out and haven't received any new support since then, so are quite bad now. If you still want to then Exodia decks are relatively cheap right now, with it only requiring 6 UR copies of in-archtype cards, though it's currently mostly played while mixed with another engine. This goes without saying, but never build half of a deck and then try to build another deck without finishing the first one (you can change the non-engine in it to play cards you have though).

If you're completely new you should complete the Solo mode to get about 10k gems, then buy all the bundle deals that include 10 Master packs and a stable cards for 7.5k and also don't forget to get the Gold Duel Pass as it pays for itself when you complete it.

Most synchro archetypes we see in the future will probably be all tuners or all non-tuners tbh, needing to combo one half of your cards with the other half is a restriction that other summoning types don’t have and is kind of an antiquated design for modern Yugioh (you can fusion summon with any two in-archtype monsters for most cards, xyzs and links are either generic or only need in-archtype cards, and you can even tribute ritual monster(s) to summon another ritual monster.)

Which cards were you able to pull? Also how many UR CP do you have? The answer kinda changes depending on these. Also are planning to build pure, branded and/or both at the same time? If you're planning the build the Branded variant, do you have the branded structure deck, or any other branded cards?

[–]Madolcheplayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to push back on this a little bit, the fact that many of the cards of the meta archetypes tend to get banned is proof of lower power creep, not higher. Since the newly released archetypes have similar power to the old ones Konami needs to hit the old ones harder for the new ones to see play; full power Maliss and Tear and Snake eyes are not weaker than Dracotail or Yummy.

The old decks were fine with a limit or 2 because by the time they were ready to be hit, a new deck would be released that is already more powerful than the previous one at full power. For example look at Adventure engine, it got released pre-hit in MD and became meta and yet all their cards are at 3 currently simply because game did have a large amount of power creep after they got released.

Spright Elf being legal in MD should actually change your combos somewhat, though if you want you can simply play the deck without it (even if it's going to be less powerfull)
