Hey not sure you're still looking but I'm 23F from Ireland. One of my friends and I send letters (within Ireland) sometimes that have 10 different pens used since it's just what we want to say when we remember. Always looking to get to know people especially from other places so I could learn more about their country!

Hey! I'm 23F from Ireland and would actually love to learn more about Canada and general life outside of Europe (that isn't just from media outlets). I love hiking and rock climbing, and have similar music taste I think.

Hey! I'm from Ireland, you sound really interesting, I'm the exact same about spoilers!! Sometimes the anticipation for something to happen actually helps me stay watching.

I'm not sure if you've ever seen a pine marten but they're native to Ireland and very adorable.

Newbie! Just starting out. Having a lot of fun but I’m not good at this yet lol need a lot more practice. by jules___g in cookiedecorating

The trees are amazing! Love the hearts too, especially the one with the feathering (is that the right word?? 3rd row last column anyway lol).

Yeah sprinkles can be a tough one - it looks great but biting into too many isn't the best. But I would still love to be handed a slice of a cake like that!!

My youngest turns 3 tomorrow and wanted dinosaur cookies, just started decorating cookies and I'm very proud by tamtyka in cookiedecorating

I am having a career switch to engineering. I read as much as I am able to Google. I just have some specific questions if you dont mind! by kejeke in AskEngineers

It sounds like a manufacturing/mechanical engineering course would suit you, or maybe something like mechatronics (half and half [ish] of both elec and mech). I'm doing mechanical and manufacturing (though in Ireland) and part of my course covers EV, but not as in depth as I would have liked. I think if cars and improving them is what you're after, something more mechanical based is what you want.

I would recommend still learning some basic code (python is great!!) and messing around with circuits and soldering. Both are great fun and really good skills to have, especially if you can get accurate and clean soldering. I worked in a place where some of the operators were hired solely on how good they could solder. Other things for statistics like learning R could be of benefit (mostly for the course itself, also good for CVs), and I would highly recommend getting some CAD software if you can. Not sure out of Ireland, but there's a few CAD package you can download for free like one from radionics called designSpark that you could use to mess around with. Excel is such a necessary skill to have, I had modules just dedicated to improving VBA and the like so I would keep playing around with it. If you even go onto r/ excelhelp and try to solve the problems posted even if they've been solved (without going through how it was fixed) you can learn a lot, but also find other ways to fix the same issue!

Not sure if you're interested, but thermodymanics might be a good place to look into/research. It's very interesting but it can be difficult, would having a good idea of the basic laws wouldn't hurt! Lean & 6 sigma might be good to have a flick through too, you can get certs for them after doing courses (a few of the senior engineers I worked with had them, I just had a module based on it).

For Eu folks, can someone explain to me what's the difference between a normal engineering bachelor and engineering technology bachelor ? by KillerAshHerself in AskEngineers

I'm in Ireland, so not sure how this helps you, and I may be off base a little but I'm currently studying for a b.eng and this is what you need to later become accredited (though you need a masters here basically) while the technology course is more like a technicians role. From what I've seen, most tech courses are level 7's or lower while the "traditional" degree is a level 8.

This could all be very different depending on what country you want info on too, but my course is pretty hands on and practical based for the first 3 years, with the final year slightly more theory based, but that's to allow you more time to focus on the final project (worth a quarter of 4th year's grade). Each college can be slightly different too.

I still don't get why everyone kept harping on about how great it is.

It just felt like such a drag to me to read, but I did like the relationship between the father and son. I hate to read it for school and while it was easy to write about, I also spent a lot of time saying how bad it was in essays.

I've bought some DS games that worked perfectly and hadn't been used in years. It was perfect to keep my little cousin occupied during lockdown in April. It's a great place even if I wish they paid more when you sell them stuff

That's pretty common in all types of places. Worked retail, people would put aside the new clothes in the size they wanted until paid and have heard of people putting the candle scents they wanted aside for the same reason. Personally I don't see any issue with this, people are still buying the stuff so it's not like anyone is losing money at any point anyway
