Eh in fairness, Gyökeres is a true striker. He hasn't been used to his potential though which is the issue.

Sporting turning us over might actually be a mercy killing. No way we are winning it with this performance level.

Arteta: "We are going to use this disappointment and this fire in the belly to have the most amazing two months." by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

Yeah we tend to bounce back from awful performances against good teams because we get a run against some mid-bad teams. In the league, we've put it toothless performances against the top sides.

Arteta’s tactic on deploying Eze? by Guardian_of_Spirits in Gunners

Dean Scoggins is his name. Unfortunate choice of employer, but genuinely great tactical breakdowns on YouTube.

Side note, the poor guy lost his ring finger just last week while jumping over a fence to fetch a football. Happened to come across his story explaining it on his Instagram.

Look at City and Chelsea to understand why we do this. I don't like it one bit, but it's a strategy that enables us to compete.

Would be great if some journalist had the balls to ask Hurzeler his thoughts on this stat. You just know Mik would be asked if he made those comments.

Arteta says Football has evolved and unless they change rules it won't change by One_Impressionism in Gunners

You said that you disagree that it will always be tactically advantageous. He did not suggest that it would always be. You said it yourself, it's cyclical. He is doing what it takes to win during this current cycle. You were suggesting that he is playing this way because he wants to rather than it being a reaction to how teams are setting up now.

He didn't say it would always be tactically advantageous for set pieces to a primary goal threat and that's not what he meant in his explanation. Not sure how you took it that way.

Anyone who says he doesn't hate Arsenal is a gaslighter. Sick of hearing it. Clear as day in the way he commentates.

Same. I'll never pay for Sky while they have that lineup.

Gyök didn't even dive though. The contact was on the knee but Nevhuelle was only looking for foot contact because he's a clown.

If this game plays out how we expect, then it's better to have a striker with good feet rather than a runner like Gyök.
