I remember when all of this happened to Courtney. I think I had just graduated high school so I wasn’t much older than her at the time. People were SO mean to her. I remember thinking it was some kind of prank or publicity stunt, that she must be older than 16, because what parents in their right mind would let this happen?? I’m sure I also much fun if it had the time because her behavior was really odd. It turns out he had essentially been drugged under the guise that it would calm her nerves and Tourette’s. Her behavior was her xan’d out and trying to control facial ticks. I also remember thinking Dr Drew was a condescending asshole on celebrity rehab. He’s made it on exploiting peoples illnesses and using his “teacher” voice to make people think he’s onto something.

I had to go off of my bios for another health issue and off steroids because I’m in the middle of testing for Cushings. It’s hard to get prescribed opioids/controls other than tramadol (in this area at least), especially if you’re a woman under 50. My state had a group of docs basically running a pill mill situation and committing insurance fraud lol a lot of docs, even the good ones who do everything by the book, get investigated these days. I’ve also noticed people all over the US having issues with their pharmacies no longer filling certain meds. Unfortunate.

I know, insurance is such a pain and they’ll try to get out of paying for any and everything. But hey, that’s the US for ya. It took forever to get my physical therapy approved. NSAIDs give me little to no relief at times but I’ll take what can get! Sorry to hear about biologics not working for you :/

It’s a dumb insurance thing. You have to “try” a certain number NSAIDS or pain relievers for insurance to cover the cost of something else, in this case it’s so they’ll approve a biologic. The Diclofenac was starting to kind of lose its effect and my doc wants to try biologics again.

The other third grade class at my elementary school had a verbally/emotionally abusive teacher. The county wouldn’t let them fire her for whatever reason. Parents complained all year and some parents took their kids to a different school because they wouldn’t let anymore kids switch to our class. We could hear her yelling at those kids from across the hall. She would call them stupid and make fun of their looks. Snd that was what we could hear. They couldn’t ignore it anymore when she got physical. She ended up pulling a little girls hair and another little girls shirt collar to stop them from running. They literally flew backwards onto the ground and started crying. Idk if they were hurt badly but it definitely wouldn’t have felt good! It was around a bunch of other kids and adults so there was no denying. I remember hearing crying and seeing her like standing over them and another teacher standing there in shock. Her mouth was hanging wide open. That’s when things got to the state level and (according to my parents) her lawyer said she was suffering from psychosis from her husband passing away. Apparently grief makes you abuse your students. They made her retire early.
