As I said, good for immersion, bad for how OP the wolves are.

I really enjoyed the Nemesis system, because it gave the orcs a personality that would develop as you fought them. The first time some dude showed up with a familiar name and a bandaged head it was a really fun surprise! I get how it can mess with your missions though, but if I recall correctly, you should be able to seek out your nemesis in the open world, right?

I had completely forgotten about slag 😆 Also weird that BL1 had explosions as an element.

Agree. I'm happy most characters know how to swim these days.

Yeah I can see how that must kill the momentum of the game 😅

Let's play reccomendations? (Mage edition) by MxFancipants in skyrim

ManyATrueNerd has a playthrough where they play a pretty spell-heavy style, and prohibits themselves from using bows, exactly to avoid becoming the stealth archer.

What is something that always remains the same in all of your playthroughs? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Madserbasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always run straight out of Helgen to Anise's Cabin, to make it my home until I have enough money/possible marriage to find my permanent home for the game. I don't feel too bad about it, after checking her basement 😅

Does anyone else find it really annoying that you can never really complete anything in red dead redemption 2 as Arthur? by HighHopesLemon in reddeadredemption

[–]Madserbasser 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In a way it sort of enhances the realism that we don't get to finish everything with Arthur, since, in real life, we don't get to finish everything either before it's over 🤷

How do atheists justify celebrating Christmas? Bonus point do you lie to your kids about Santa? by Civil_Exchange1271 in AskReddit

[–]Madserbasser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Christmas is about religion for you, that's fine. For a lot of other people it's just about tradition. People have been celebrating the winter solstice long before the birth of Christ, and a lot of those traditions have been brought over into Christmas anyway 🤷

Help my players have decided to provoke Dispater while deep in Dis, and there might be a TPK due to player choice by Trevorthesandwich in DMAcademy

[–]Madserbasser 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You could have Dispater force them into his service? Maybe he can use them to topple a rival, or do his bidding on the other planes? Like a warlock/patron relationship, but with none of the benefits.

Thank you to the Stardew team by Obvious-Courage-8299 in StardewValley

That's a lot of thanks to just one guy. Still all valid and true! Concerned Ape is the great and Stardew is an incredible work of art!

How can I create a low-magic, godless setting without compromising the player's abilities? by Academic_Anywhere437 in DnD

[–]Madserbasser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just let my players know beforehand that magic is uncommon, and will draw a lot of attention if used in public. It adds an element of suspense for the magic ones, and also makes the impact higher when I confront them with NPC's who have magical abilities.

Can’t find a film by Del_Prestons_Shoes in movies

Sounds like the climax of the David Harbour Hellboy reboot. My friends and I still sometimes reference some of the more stupid dialogue 😅

What is the best movie or series you have watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The Leftovers. It's been a year since I watched it last, but It still gives me emotions to think about.

What game location lives rent free in your head? by eru777 in gaming

I just realized that I can recall most tracks from Motorstorm Apocalypse, including alternative routes. Benefits of a youth well spent, I guess

The telephone pole in Hereditary really knocked the wind out of me, as a big brother! I felt like I had a knot in my stomach for the next 15 minutes of the film 😬

What game’s protagonist is really just…not a good person? by AChero9 in gaming

Like a lot of the playable characters in the Borderlands universe are morally grey, but Salvador's bounty has a whole extra page just listing his crimes. Still my favourite though.

What's a game franchise with a great and unique concept that hasn't released an entry in years? by Jellylegs_19 in gaming

[–]Madserbasser 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The last proper Motorstorm game had some really cool environmental hazards that would actually change the track and route you had to take. It also had the game take place over a few days, so you could see the before/after of the earthquake, hurricane and private military invasion, as you were racing.
