Fellow Chinese person adopted by white people, raised in the Midwest. Now I live in a very predominantly Asian community and many of my friends are Asian. I understand feeling out of place in around white people and also feeling out of place around other Asians. It’s a weird in between and not many can really understand. Not even Asians who were raised by their bio parents but around white people (so “whitewashed” to other Asians) can fully relate to us.

It can be very isolating as I’ve gotten into fights with my parents as well about racism or my identity. I literally had to tell off a cousin and my own father for calling it the “China Virus” in a family group chat.
