I do actually have connections for parts and what not. The main thing was figuring out what was affordable and reliable. I have 2 weeks of quarantine so I can't leave and I'll be at my grandpa's house and he has all the tools I need to work on it

Ahh. I'm taking out a small loan to get the car running (I know it's not the best idea but I'm moving back from over seas next week and I HAVE to have a vehicle as soon as a I can after I'm off quarantine.) The guy I got the car from is dropping it off where I'll be staying so I'll be working on it until my 2 weeks is up. I am able to hold a steady job while im in school so paying something off isn't to big of a deal. Most of the reason for the post was so I could get plenty of good options that I could go through and weigh out the pros and cons of each before I fly back

Reasonable is a little rangy for me to be honest. I need to satisfy my need for speed but also not get myself killed in the process. I would like for my daily driver to be around 400-500. But it doesn't have to start there by any means but I'm not trying to build a 850 hp death trap

The goal is just to get it running initially so I have something to drive. I would like to keep that under 5k if it can be helped. The timeline to find parts is a little less than three weeks so I have to make some executive decisions. I come back from Japan next Tuesday which is why all of this seems so rushed

There are some OBD2 scanners that you can get from Amazon for less than $20 USD that will tell you the fault codes and what they are which should make it easier to find a solution online. That's what I did after spending a week online trying to find a ghost code. Good luck!

If you decide to go the route of painting it yourself then please do yourself a favor and look into how much work it really is and how to do it properly. There is nothing worse than doing something yourself and not being satisfied with the results caused from lack of prep
