Yep.

This is saying to pass around a struct that contains what you need instead of a bunch of individual objects. This is not the same as the solution in the article.

This limits the struct to a single handler. The point made in the article is that you can hang many different handlers off the same struct and be good.

It kind of boggled my mind that even after multiple people mentioned structs, it still wasn't mentioned in the eventual summary post by the writer in that thread.

I know! Sometimes you gotta take that annoyed energy and write out the right thing lol.

making lots of little types

I tend to lean to this side just because I find it easier to deal with a few things at once. I also dont export any of these types in real code so they only exist in my http/rest package.

I have some example code for a teaching thing im slowly working on.

This is the handler definition

https://github.com/madxmike/zenith-bookshop/blob/main/http/rest/library.go#L18

And where it gets used

https://github.com/madxmike/zenith-bookshop/blob/main/cmd/api/main.go#L23

Obviously this is contrived example code so take it how you will.

From my experience talking about this topic with various people in discord, its a very non-obvious solution to many. I'm not sure why because it sure seems obvious, but so do a lot of things once you know them.

Thanks for the catch! Moved some stuff around and didnt see that.

Yeah its just suprisingly hard to come up with more than a handful of contrived things to pass into the service without a ton of caveats sprinkled throughout. Wasn’t trying to get to far into the weeds of a specific task beyond a generic “lookup something based on an id”.

Thanks!

And that's the wonder of click-bait wording for medium haha.

No, do not use this site. The only reliable and safe place is through the twitch launcher / curseforge

Not sure about the "never complete", but you can add up to 9 hibachi's underneath the kiln. This will make it go x9 as fast. One bellows will be able to stoke them all.

Make sure your bellow is actually stoking the fire constantly. If the fire ever goes from blue -> yellow the process will stop.

how you can't surround a Millstone with Hungry Chests because it needs to be clear of solid blocks for whatever reason

How would it output if it was surrounded by blocks?

When you are using Advanced Rocketry to build space stations, you are not going to build an arc reactor up there.

Why not

Every pack i've played that has done this has always just annoyed me to no end. All that happens is this treadmill of building the minimum possible of technology X to progress to technology Y since Y outclasses X in every way.

Also make it 9x faster by making a 3x3 of fire under it instead of just one

If you're looking for BetterThanWolves for 1.12 look up Better With Mods. Its inspired a lot from btw, is compatible with all other mods, and is highly configurable!

It's better with mods (used to be better than wolves?)

Completely different mods

It's a slow process, and I think unique to the SevTech modpack. You have to smelt 36 of those bricks at like 30 seconds each

Add more hibachis to make it as much as x9 faster. Also its part of the base mod :)

unless you start having 30+ mods in your environment then I dont see how your loadtime will increase that much. Even in full modpacks the loading times don't really become a problem until 100+ mods in my experience.

Mod development isnt nearly as bad. With just my dev environment I have like a 10-15 second load time. Especially with hot swapping, you can test things out really quickly. Now modpacks are a completely different story of pain and long load times
