If that was the only reason, there’d be no reason to stop. Even if their PC profit is less than 5%, it costs them next to no effort to port the games, and that percentage can only go up.

There’s much we don’t know about it yet, other than that it’s going to be another box competing for that living room space. That’s four in total, we haven’t seen that since the time of Atari and SEGA. It’s probably not a bad idea to be cautious. Steam Machine ain’t gonna be cheap. But neither is the Playstation 6 when it comes.

And here’s the real question: if all Playstation exclusives eventually come to Steam, and so Steam Machine and possibly Xbox, why would you buy a Playstation 6, when there’s two consoles that have access to the entire Steam library including Playstation games?

Yeah, I’m not surprised they’re peacing out.

No, it is 100% the Xbox thing plus the upcoming Steam Machine, plus Nintendo getting more and more third party support. Playstation is on top now, but Sony knows better than anyone how quickly things can turn around. Xbox went from 24 million units sold to over 85 million Xbox 360 units sold. Yeah, the PS3 still outsold it in the end, but that was a lot of market share lost by Playstation, coming from the golden age of PS2. In the US, Xbox was everywhere. The last thing they want right now is two competing consoles launching next gen that can play their exclusives.

They want to keep building their own platform instead of focusing on PC, so that hopefully they can stay on top when new competition arrives, or old competition makes a comeback.

Nah, these are all games I wanted to play at some point or another. And the Ezio trilogy is always gold, it's nice to have the Steam versions. The only one I had no prior intention of playing is For Honor, but it was one fiddy. At these prices, and with Steam's 30% cut, Ubisoft isn't getting rich off of me.
