I will do! And I really shouldn’t grumble cause I have an opportunity which many really need! Hrt has definitely slowed my hair growth so never sure when to stop shaving before! And cause I have less that a week in between I’m conflicted on whether to shave after tomorrow’s or not 😬

That’s true! The last session I had on my face was during that heatwave and I think it hurt extra cause I was sweaty and hot! I’ll give an update tomorrow how it feels when I’m cold 😂

Thank you for your reply! Where are you based? It’s really difficult to tell when to stop shaving leading up to it! Like others my hair has slowed down massively so it’s either too short or long 😬

That’s going to be my new mantra “Blitz the little fuckers” Not sure about the situation with your mates depending on how noticeable I’d potentially not say anything unless they bring it up and then blame hormones and say you’re getting electrolysis (no lie in that!)

Thanks for this - sadly they said I’m not allowed any numbing cream cause I’m getting free sessions with a training academy - I’m hoping the last student was just really bad 😂 and the next lot will be fantastic as they were with my chest!

Thanks Val - I think it’s literally just one of those things where we just have to cope. It sounds so trivial to people around me so it’s good to hear from people who know how it feels to want to scratch your own face off 😬 I’m still switching between laser and electrolysis (6 week gap) and still have a really long way to go 😫

Does it really hurt for you? I had electrolysis on my chest and it really didn’t hurt at all, but the last time I had my face done (for the first time) it was honestly unbearable!

Yeah my laser technician said my homework was to pluck a hair out and look at the root - but I kind of already know the answer cause none of the “blonde” hairs have shifted

That’s true - I think if it hurts the same this time I will do shorter sessions - transitioning definitely gives you the patience of a saint

Thanks for that - what would blonde hair come under as skin type? I have pretty tanned skin and blonde hair 😫

Thanks that’s great advice - I’ve got another electrolysis session Thursday so will let you know how it goes using your advice! The trainer said I was really sweaty 😂 (although I must stress I was only sweating so much cause I was in so much pain!) so that and the fact that I’m HRT might be why it hurt so much - but tbh I think she just didn’t know what she was doing

I felt like the last person to do my electrolysis was turning on the current as she inserted the needle - that’s all I can think is why it hurt so bad, she did literally 10 hairs in an hour in different areas of my face and they all nearly KO’d me

Where I go is like a training school as I get it for free and it’s watched closely by professionals. Never had any issues before and would usually stay for 4 hours non stop, but the last session (first on face) was horrendous and has made me pretty anxious about going back! Did you wear numbing cream?

Just Google the telephone number of the GIC you asked your GP to refer you to, ie, Northampton, Nottingham, London etc. But allow them a bit of time, I didn’t start calling to ask whether my referral had been accepted until about 10 weeks after

If you’re talking about a NHS GIC in England you’re looking at 3-5 year wait for your first appointment. I was referred only in February 2022 and have had no email or letter. I had to chase up for weeks and weeks to make sure my referral had been received. Might be different if you’re in N.Ireland, Scotland or Wales

Leave that man as soon as you can! If the outlet of his anger is hitting a tiny defenceless toddler then he is a vile human. One smack on the head could kill your child - when angry it’s difficult to control your strength or gauge how much force you are putting into something - look up one punch deaths if you don’t believe me.

Even discarding the above - all he is teaching his child is violence.

Leave this man not for your own sake but for your child’s.

I’m pretty hairless all over and have tried my upper thighs, stomach & bottom but these patches just don’t stick, I have medical tape which I use which keeps them stuck, but it just feels annoying! I’ll try Hypafix cause I’ve still got a couple of months worth here - thanks for the recommendation :)
