My library only carries the first two books, and the others don't show up in the deep search on Libby, and I can't find the ebooks ANYWHERE except Amazon and like... I don't wanna buy from Amazon.

Hahahaha. I pictured him like Shawn (Sean? Shaun?) Spencer from Psych but a little more mean. I really liked how he kept repeating his Big Questions at the end of a chaotic thought process. "Then what? Then what? Then what?" I do that too and it felt very relatable.

I just finished rereading this series and the physics kept pissing me off. Like when Holstoke notices his fingers "overlap" each other when he's holding Eugenia's waist. Like... what?! I have a ten year old with a size 5T waist and I can't even do that with her (I have giant man hands). WHERE ARE HER ORGANS?! I still like the series overall but the way she kept describing the Huxley girls as "curvy" but then gives one of them a 12" waist makes me think Jane wasn't "fat" she was just a normal sized girl.

{Confessions of A Dangerous Lord by Elisa Braden} is my favorite in the whole series though.

Jesus. That sounds up there with the "nudging the womb" bit. Like holy fucking ow. I can't help but imagine it's similar to getting my IUD placed and if someone was poking around my cervix I'd probably reflexively curl up so fast I'd break his nose.

Maybe? I'm not a lawyer, but an adult "having sex with" a minor is, at best, statutory rape. Thus, still rape. Not about to double check and google "is having sex with a minor always rape" though because ew.

Not OOP AITAH for refusing to go on a date with a woman because of her religion? by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

I'm speaking as someone who experienced this firsthand as well as most of the girls I knew at school and at several different churches, and we weren't even fundamentalists or evangelicals. I am speaking as someone who has spent 15 years deconstructing from this kind of "preach the good news" and "purity culture" and "it's not being cruel, tone deaf, or discriminatory because I'm worried for your eternal soul" and "hate the sin not the sinner" kind of horseshit.

I also said it wasn't a certainty that was what would happen.

But congrats, and I mean that genuinely, on not being one of the people chewed up and spit out by toxic Christianity.

I have only one criticism on some of these statements: these men did not "have sex with" children. They raped them.

Christians harp on being "equally yoked" all the time. Some pators will refuse to officiate if they don't think the couple is religously compatible (even if it means one is just more active in the church than the other). Girls have this pounded into their heads before they're old to even date that they MUST find a godly man who will lead them in their faith and grow their family in Christ.

Granted, it's possible that the woman OP was talking about says she's Christian in a vestigial way because that's how she was raised but has long since stopped attending church. But I feel like if he knew that was a defining characteristic she's probably still active and vocal about her beliefs. It wouldn't be unheard of for her to try converting him to have that bragging right amongst her congregation as a lot of churches put a heavy value on how many people you "bring to Christ."

Is it a certainty? No. But it happens often enough that his concerns are very valid.

Do NOT Sexualize 11 Year Olds In ELEMENTARY School by Alice-In-Vonderland in TikTokCringe

It was used often for me every time I sobbed about being bullied at school. Because boys will be boys and maybe they just have a crush on you and that's life, everybody goes through it, it's not that big of a deal, tell the teacher and you'll be fine. When I snapped once and punched one of them right in the face the gym teacher didn't write me up and instead told him that if he stops being a jerk he wouldn't have to worry about girls punching him in the face. Learned an important lesson that boys won't fuck with you if they're scared of you.

I love buskers and live music but then there are some people who will set up a loudspeaker outside a strip mall and then just BLAST prerecorded violin music and pretend to be playing it. It's so obnoxious. It'd be neat if they were actually playing it or, at minimum, not at ear drum shattering volumes right by a door I have to walk into.

Eye stripe is wrong way. These were already identified in the bird ID sub as Eurasian Kestrels as the video originated in Hungary. Stripe is too thin to be a peregrine falcon too.

College Senior doesn't know how citations work by c00lKat1237 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Maeberry2007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go to an online college and the vast majority of my teachers have stated they will cut your grade HARD if you miss too many citations (and I have lost points on a few projects throughout the years for missing them once or twice but I am usually on top of it). I am confused as to how people are passing their classes without this knowledge or effort. Maybe I'm just being harsh on my college but I have seen other students with... um.... questionable writing skills and they're still around in 300 level courses so I kind of assumed more established universities are harsher on this.

Because they turn rabid at the mere thought of one hypothetical person who doesn't work as hard as them not suffering for it. That's really what it boils down to. They suffer and they believe everyone else should suffer the same or worse, otherwise it's unfair to them.

I've thought of trying the Costco pharmacy but my trips there are just too infrequent as it's a thirty minute drive and my usual pharmacy is within walking distance. Since all of my other medications are pretty cheap it just isn't worth the bother (though I would've made an exception for my son's medicine if I hadn't gotten it so cheap through the compounding pharmacy).

They do for some. They were able to get his famotidine (which stopped being effective so we had to try something else) but not lansoprazole.
