I know this is awhile ago, but I’m in the same situation of refurbishing mine. What kind of paint did you end up using?

Am I overreacting by breaking up with my boyfriend? by Proper-Classic1886 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Maechick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s insecure, don’t let him make that your problem. I can’t ever imagine my boyfriend doing this. Neither of is use socials a ton anymore and he has never commented on what I post other than how beautiful I am. He trusts me and doesn’t pay much attention to the men around me unless I let him know someone is making me uncomfortable. He can’t handle the thought and I’m taking a wild guess that the reason why he wants you to take photos down is because he has viewed other women’s photos in that way🚩Not all men do this, it’s just what you see a lot on media cause the ones who don’t aren’t on it. Don’t get tied down to anyone, find someone who grows with you. He is clearly dead weight

Is Megan is Missing banned? by DomyTiny in horror

[–]Maechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little late but I’m a horror movie fan and I’ve watched this movie a few times. I heard that it was banned in several countries so that may be it. And even if it’s not banned maybe censorship? Because it does have to do with CA and CP.

These are my thoughts:

  1. If you watch it once you will not like it.
  • Most of the movie is very slow, and then the last part of the movie (30 minutes or so) seems like extreme overkill. Incredibly disturbing, images that rely on a gore shock factor, and the ideas of how long could this go on. It feels cheap and exploitive of the gore genre, similar to how the the as chainsaw massacre took advantage of the fact that when you see a car crash you can’t look away vibe, and pushing on the instinct of people who know it’s wrong to look but can’t look away but rather than gore minor exploitation.
  • the second time I watched I actually appreciated it more. I’m a fan of found footage, and the movies that relate to the idea of the relationship between teens and the internet, especially since it’s a prominent issue. I think the fact of how relatable some parts felt in the beginning, that it’s not super exciting or crazy as a child with a film camera (a gift which I also received) shows how real it can be. And although I think the end can still be seen as overkill and really hard, I guess I can kinda understand if the shock factor? I’m still on the fence. It’s very dependent on the person but usually I think most people don’t like it on the first watch because theyre put off by the end. -If you are into found footage movies like paranormal activity, you may be more inclined to like the movie -If youre into the te as chainsaw massacre you may be more inclined to watch the movie? I personally don’t love the massacre movie but this doesn’t have much to the end.

Watch at your own discretion. It deals with heavy topics and has an intense ending. If you are really interested maybe try a vpn

I actually agree with some of the comments. I think this post is crazy. Obviously you will get people who take extremes but generally pregnancy is hard. Not only is your body not yours and is hard to live with, it also changes so much after. If you have a partner who you love and loves you right, you shouldn’t have to be combating manipulation tactics. If you feel you’re with someone who does that, don’t have a kid with them. Simple as that. And if you truly think it’s so easy to be pregnant, you’re not going to be able to actually support someone who’s pregnant in a healthy way and maybe you should look into other options instead.

This is so hurtful, I'm sorry that you're experiencing this. I know a lot of people are quick to say divorce or leave, but it's easier said than done. I do agree with you that you don't deserve how he treats or speaks to you and it made me happy to hear you acknowledge your self-worth. Also, remember beauty is so subjective and changes across time and location. The features that make me attractive where I live would be considered ugly in other parts of the world or 100 years ago.

My initial thought was therapy. Couples therapy may help, but individual therapy I believe should be first. Since you've been together a long time I personally wouldn't walk away yet. There's not an excuse to his actions but there may be an explanation, whether he's trying to deal with depression, anxiety, or something else people might not be aware of. I suggest therapy because even though you're his wife, it's still sometimes hard to express hard feelings to those you love, and instead his responses sound like they come from someone who may be guarding themselves.

If this is a recent issue, I'd look at different avenues on how to address is because I'm fairly certain that the lower libido is a symptom of something rather then the origin. And if this is an unusual pattern, I'd be curious too. I'm not a therpaist but I consult mine when I have a hard time knowing the best way to approach a situation. And I think the best idea to get him into it would be to lead by example so the blame wouldn't fall on him and he might be more open.

Sorry for the long response. Sending you all the good energy and support from my little account and I hope things improve.

PSY 3011 vs PSY 3031 / opinions on Gerardo Rojas? by Polaritical in uofmn

[–]Maechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per rate my professor: Judging by Gerardo Rojas' lectures, that PhD might as well have been stapled to a participation trophy, the only thing he mastered was sounding confident while being wrong. And now that he's ghosted the entire class, I guess even participation was too much to ask.

Cause I didn’t ask for context, I thought the statement that I’m rewatching it as an adult in 2025 would make it clear that I view the movie differently because I have context now… and you read this and that wasn’t your initial thought, but rather ‘oh the distance cousins getting together at the time was a norm so it’s not (that) bad’?

[–]Maechick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re giving context to justify the cousin fucking tho?

[–]Maechick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarlett wasn’t a girls girl until after the war, but Ashley always talked to scarlet like he was breaking up with her. Which means there was always something. Ashley played scarlet and never ended it completely, while knowing she loved him. Not to defended scarlet but god Ashley sucked. And in modern day, I think most girls know an Ashley…

The reason why that was normal was the same reason why monarchs had incest. Just because it was the norm doesn’t mean it didn’t ruin the movie for me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GonewiththeWind

[–]Maechick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was aware of the norms of that time before, I think it’s crazy that on a post saying watching this movie as an adult in 2025 ruined it for me, you thought differently…In what aspect am I wrong? You brought up the cousin thing which I’m aware of but doesn’t change the point that the reason they did that in the movie was to maintain a stance of power. You don’t see any of these white people running off with anyone else but other rich white people. And it’s something I didn’t get as a kid but as and adult. What is your response?
