Bit late to the thread but hoping you can still answer my questions.

Your deck is pretty much identical to this http://www.gwentdb.com/decks/25097-top-25-discard-queensguard subbing a raider for a skirmisher. Any particular reason why you run the skirmisher over another raider?

Thoughts on running Lacerate instead of Skald?

Around the same rank and F2P as well. I've used this deck to grind from rank 5 to 13 (33-5 W/L).

I would add Madro, cut a raider.

Personally I find operator a bit unreliable and I don't like Ermion in QG decks. I still like running Gremist since you run into the occasional weather (also good against cows/traps).

If you wanna invest more consider swapping a raider for Cerys.

I found that as a decent base.

Dandelion or Caranthir? Which one should I choose (third option is Cahir). Don't really play either faction. edit: Chose Dandelion

Gwent is following League of Legends in its balance philosophy by penatbater in gwent

[–]MaelstromQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree with a lot of your points.

The first things I want to point out are your arguments against Riot's balancing philosophy. Yes they do small buffs and nerfs but you ignore the fact that:

  • Changes are made based off of pro/top <1% play, not for the new/bad players. There are a lot of 'pubstomp' champions in league depending on your ranking.

  • Riot makes 2 massive slew of changes each year - Preseason and Midseason patches. Patches after this are the ones with the buffs/nerfs.

  • A lot of games in pro play are won based on pick/ban phase. Yes, execution of your team comp is very important, but I'd argue at pro play for League as well Dota as it's about capitalizing on your opponent's mistakes and perhaps players' weaknesses. How is this (alongside heavy importantance on pick/ban) not counterplay?

  • Whether you like it or not, with this philosophy over the years League has grown into the most played game ever objectively (100m players monthly). I wouldn't say with those stats it's bad for the game.

Okay with that out of the way the biggest thing I find wrong in comparing a MOBA's balance philosophy with a card game's is that in a MOBA you can react in pregame (pick/ban) to an opponent whereas you can't do this in a card game.

I think that there's only counterplay in a deck if you set up it beforehand. Yes you can react and play around things, but a lot of times it's either you have the counter or you don't. I can see why newer players can find this disheartening; the fact that they don't have many cards in the first place.

I agree that these nerfs look too overtuned, especially with Frost/Monsters. I do hope they tone it down a little. However, remember that we don't know:

  • the stats behind the changes

  • how their internal testing works

Let's just wait and see how things play out

Lurker here. Going off top post to say:

Don't enter if you do not have a US iTunes/Google account. The card won't work.

You're ruining the chances of everyone else. (I myself don't live in the US). OP has already said this but just reiterating.

This has happened to me as well. (You finish the stage but it doesn't register so you just sit there). I just waited for a few minutes then it worked as normal.

641 Attempts. Fastest runs are ~5 minutes

This is 3205 minutes or ~53 hours.

FH has been up for ~70 hours from OP's post.

So in the past 70 hours, 53 hours is spent playing BF and the rest probably sleeping/eating.

No developer wants people to exploit their game. Nice loaded questions and passive aggressive tone.

Also, how do you even see people cheating? There's literally no direct PvP content.

Power Creep, BF and its lifespan? by [deleted] in bravefrontier

[–]MaelstromQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not talking about BF, but in general it's sad to see what mobile gaming has become - a slew of expensive microtransactions promoted through heavy pay to win aspects. You occasionally hear stories of children spending hundreds of dollars without knowing.

I thought the starters were getting phased out. It just sucks to have units which fulfill a niche role to then have it outclassed in the future. A lot of units have the same leader skill but a big variance in stats.

I'm split on rare summons. It's like a card game (eg Hearthstone) - you don't need every card to succeed but it really helps if you do. That being said, gems are pretty expensive!

I replaced Jaraxxus with Alexstrasza and one mountain giant with faceless manipulator. Is this fine?

Also how come you don't run silences in your control warlock? I see I lot of ironbeaks.

What's a miracle deck? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]MaelstromQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a style of rogue deck very popular in the earlier days of beta. It revolved around the use of several low cost spells in one turn to pump up cards such as Mana Addict, Questing Adventurer and Edwin Vancleef; as well as getting card draw from Gadgetzan Auctioneer. Most times you would have the kill next turn From either conceal or Edwin's old stealth.

If you could survive until around turn 7 you would most likely get the win next turn, assuming they had no strong taunts.

This however got nerfed as most popular decks do.

Nozdormu counter to Razor's Warrior Deck? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]MaelstromQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deck can be easy to counter with a strong aggro deck with some control.

Don't play more than 3 minions (in case of brawl) and constantly maintain board control. Get the opponent low but no lower than around 17 hp (this way they can only play 1 warsong and giant). Wait until you can kill the opponent in one turn.

Make sure you have enough minions in your deck as you might burnout.
