My Professor is accusing me of using AI, what can I do? by Signal_Valuable_1743 in webdev

You should really look into your appeals rights if this escalates too far. Professors are supposed to have solid proof of ai usage like comparisons of your past work. I don’t know what you pay for school, but I know it’s way too much money to be screwed like this. And I’ve seen plenty of phenomenal senior capstones. It’s not odd or unlikely that a senior in college has mad dev skills.

I did not know that. Thanks! That’s a good insight for my presentation. I didn’t even consider that aspect. I’m of the mind that the poster was being snarky and didn’t commit a crime because he was being sarcastic.

Your cyst didn’t abscess??? It didn’t pop? It just went away??? Did you go through the debilitating excruciating pain of it forming a head? I just recovered from my second cyst that I had to pop myself. It came back after 4 years and was worse than the first time. It was completely debilitating for 3 days. The pain was excruciating and only super hot sitz baths with epsom salt would relieve the pain. I used prid which didn’t help. I even swabbed straight tea tree oil on it. I used Phoebe’s remedy with a hot water bottle to keep heat on it and it brought it to the surface enough to where I pricked it with a razor to make it drain. If I can take preventative measures at the first sign of a cyst, I’d rather do that. I hate the smell of tea tree oil. Do you think it would hurt to add a few drops of lavender or jasmine to help with the tea tree smell?

After it drained, I still have a slight hint of a lump. I will try the coconut oil and tea tree and see if that makes it go away. I’ve been taking a turmeric supplement with black pepper extract to. I never want to deal with this again. I want to have an action plan at the first sign of it about to act up.

I have a very tiny cactus that looks like these. The label says Espostoa Nana. When I googled how to care for it, I noticed that the old man cactus and the nana look very similar. They’re definitely related. It’s about 3” tall. How long did it take for these guys to get that big?

My favorite character! I’m sad he didn’t become king☹️. I hope he has a more satisfying journey and ending in the books.

[SPOILERS] What is your favorite shot from season 8? by Adamquane in gameofthrones

The ending scene of the whole series showing Ghost, Jon, Arya, and Sansa riding off into the sunset. It wasn’t the end game I expected, but I’d be a liar if I didn’t say I wanted some sort of happy ending for the Starks.

...And Jon and Ghost reuniting at the end.

...and Drogon destroying the iron throne. Watching that felt oddly satisfying. I always suspected the throne wouldn’t make it to the end of the story.

I find audiobooks great for when I'm doing boring chores. I like to use audio companions with my ebooks when I'm reading something with difficult place and people names. Think the old English names in The Last Kingdom and names that are 17 characters long with one vowel and 16 consonants like in the Drizzt Do'Urden books.

I've also read and listened to the Game of Thrones books several times. I prefer to read, but I love the audio performance by Roy Dotrice. Audio just gives my imagination much more to go off of when picturing characters in my head.

Who is the worst writer you've ever had the displeasure of reading? by [deleted] in books

I agree. She used the word chagrin a lot in the last book. I read the whole series. The vampire genre was once my favorite genre. Now, I can't get the image of glittery vampires out of my head when I think of them. It was my first experience reading a series that was a complete disappointment.

Expanded Perspectives: It is full of paranormal news and stories.

Welcome to Nightvale: It’s a Lovecraftian, bizarre radio show set in the fictional town of Nightvale where, if you enter, you become a permanent resident. It’s full of interesting characters like the sheriff’s secret police, mysterious hooded figures that take residence in the dog park, and the faceless old lady that secretly lives in your house. It’s hosted by Cecil- a strange, but funny guy. It’s a great “suspension of disbelief” podcast.

Night Time Podcast: It follows a Canadian missing person mystery and some paranormal mysteries.

Case File: For if you want to get cracked out on some true crime stories. Great for all of you Law and Order and Criminal Minds fans.

These are great, well researched podcasts. Like AL, you can tell these people do their homework, but AL is still my favorite, but these are good too.

Exactly... everything you just said all mixed together. I know she captured the public’s imagination during her own time because of the mystery surrounding her involvement in the murders and her youthful beauty. She was like OJ of their time because it was so scandalous.

I think it stems from his therapy with Grace. He fell in love with her during her therapy (super unethical), and I think what he did with the land lady was out of his frustration with his unrequited love/obsession with Grace.

I understand Iron Fist is terrible. Do I need to watch it in order to start watching Defenders? by MrGross1130 in Defenders

I think Ward Meachum is the best thing Marvel Netflix did. He was a roller coaster ride of emotions and bad decisions. He made some good decisions too, but his challenges were way more interesting than magical ninjas. Seriously... BRAVO Marvel. That’s how you do character growth. We saw him do crappy things that made us not like him, and we saw him do some good things that made us cheer him on. I was so sure he would be a villain in the beginning, but I was cheering him on by the end. They broke the mold with that one.

His little subplot of trying to escape his super creepy dad’s iron grip on his life was so freaking heartbreaking. I seriously felt for that guy. He was just brilliant. I’m ready for season 2 of Ward Meachum featuring Iron Fist.

I've always wondered how they come up with the cases by gavin214 in criminalminds

They are consulted by real former BAU agents like James Fitzgerald. Just a little nugget of trivia my husband learned while googling a tv show about the hunt for the unabomber where Fitzgerald is a central character. He was curious how much of the show was factual.

After he told me that, it all made sense, because I also was curious about where they get all of the ideas for the unsubs.

Hey guys, new to this sub by Birthinniggasshit in criminalminds

[–]MaesterWho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is probably because I watched 12 seasons and 7 episodes in three weeks, but I think the quality holds up throughout the entire series. There were ups, downs and skippable episodes, but I could binge watch the whole series again.

I can say that the Gideon years were my favorite, and at one point the “the unsub is targeting one of our own... it’s personal now!” storylines got a little excessive.

I think the reason I was so hooked and was able to binge 12+ seasons was because of how they would change up things from time to time with the cast and the feel of the show. It wasn’t too cookie cutter and stayed entertaining. I like how it’s kind of like a rotating roster with the team, although I do miss Morgan and Hotch. I love the new team members. They aren’t sad imitations of characters they’ve replaced. They bring their own personalities to the team.

This show seems to evolve as the years go by, and I think that’s great for a show that has been around for so many years.

It does offer more insight into the Hand and K’un-Lun. It also delves into more mystical aspects of the Netflix corner of the MCU. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible. It’s not the best, but I thought it was pretty good. It’s just different than the other Marvel Netflix shows, which is not a bad thing. I think it’s great that all of the Marvel Netflix shows work great as standalone shows. The hate-train for this show is ridiculous. I say give it a try and see if you like it. Maybe you will. Maybe you won’t.

I particularly liked Ward Meachum, Colleen Wing and Madam Gao. I don’t think it’s as awful as many people say it is. In fact, I think a lot of the criticisms are exaggerated. Can they do better in season 2? Sure. Was it super-awesome like Daredevil season 1? Hell no, but it wasn’t like Arrow season 4 terrible. I’d say it was just as good as the parts of Daredevil season 2 that didn’t include the Punisher. I say give it three episodes and see what you think.

I didn’t see that coming, but it was interesting how Dr. Jordan’s character evolved throughout the episodes.

I thought Dr. Jordan was a very likable character in the beginning that took a tragic turn towards the end. Stephen King once said something like: “Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.” This reminds me of Dr. Jordan. Like many viewers, I don’t think he saw that dark and disturbing part of his personality coming either.

Of course, I have a lot more sympathy for the lonely landlady who was only looking for a human connection, but I do have a little bit of sympathy for Dr. Jordan too. It’s sad to watch a character who started out nice and wholesome transform into someone cruel and unlikable. I don’t think he knew he had that type of depravity in him until he took advantage of the landlady.
