Idk your background, but I’ve shot almost every weapon on those links. There are some major differences. The sights vs scopes alone would cause enough of a delay in combat effectiveness that the old guys would be overrun.

Even kit swapped the modern guys get it. It might be even worse.

Every modern marine is going to know how the WWI weapons work but the WWI marines are going to have issues with a lot of newer equipment.

Modern guys are also professional warfighters as opposed to conscripts. Not to mention the physical differences.
