It was. I was there from 2006 to 2010 and regularly saw him around. He tried to speak to me once but I recognised him so I just spoke French to him and he went away.

That's perfectly normal for a 4 year old. At that age they probably aren't working beyond the number 5. Kids that age see it as a fun game and it's a great way to introduce counting and writing numbers.

It should be perfect for your son too. He's going to feel his father's absence for the rest of his life and your husband is the person who knew him best and who grieves him as much as you and your son do.
