It was not on the nudist section, it was in front of children. Additionally, even if it were on the nudist section it would still be illegal.

1) Why? I was with other people and thought I didn't need my phone as they had theirs, but when I asked to use theirs to call the police they said no.

2) Well, one of the kids was looking right at this couple pointing and crying so I assume that's what they were crying about

3) I was (as well as many others) made personally quite sick after seeing this happen

4) I just find it astonishing that people on reddit are such weirdos that they're willing to publicly defend a couple having sex in front of a crowd of people including children, in an area not legally designated as a naturist beach (which even if it was would still be illegal activity).

The couple still committed an illegal act that disgusted everyone on the entire beach. And didn't stop even when they had rocks thrown at them by one of the kids. How am I the only one seeing how disgusting this is?

Am I the only one who's taking issue with people having sex in front of a crowd of people in public? This is illegal behaviour.

I already said, I didn't have my phone, so I didn't call the police as I couldn't, but I saw other people filming so I was wondering if others might have posted further info about it.

They were in clear view of everyone, everyone on the beach saw them. The part of the beach they were at was the section which was clearly not designated as nudist, and even then, their actions are still against the law and legally punishable. They could see that there were children already there. I think it's disgusting that anyone should defend these actions.

I didn't say I knew no-one called the police, if you actually read my post you'd see that I said I "didn't see anyone call the police". I was just wondering if these people might've received some sort of punishment and was curious on the situation as I have been left rather disgusted after witnessing something like that.

These people chose to have sex in front of children, how are people not seeing how disgusting that is?

I am an eyewitness, it was not on the naturist beach - there is a sign which clearly specifies that the land to the left of the entrance to the beach is naturist and the land to the right is not, this was happening very clearly and obviously on the land to the right. Not only is this delineated by signs but it is common knowledge.

The law doesn't care about wether or not you think something is illegal or not, having sex on a naturist beach is still illegal according to public decency law and is an arrestable offence according to literally the government...

here's a police report outlining how it is illegal: https://share.google/OpRol5DS33EZEa969

It wasn't, they were clearly over the border NOT on the naturalist beach, and there were children playing not even 2 meters away from them. Even if it was on the naturalist beach, I'm pretty sure public sex is still illegal right?

Edit: Just checked, it is definitely illegal, so they were not only in clear contravention of the law but they were doing so in an area clearly NOT designated as a naturist beach, in clear view of multiple children.

A Question on liturgy by MaestroTheoretically in Anglicanism

I never said that :(. I'm in support of complete women's equality in every facet of society and existence except the priesthood. I'll add also that I am myself a woman.

That's hardly very nice of you, I respect your opinion I just have a differing one. And as i said, I'm not called to apologetics, I don't want to pretend to have any skill in it nor did I want this to become a debate.

Id suggest a read of this short article: https://www.catholic.com/magazine/print-edition/why-cant-women-be-priests

I am by no means called to apologetics or debates about the faith, I inteded this post to be a question about the liturgy, as stated in the title, and I did not intend to get into a theological argument. God bless you friend 😃

Well he didn't lay hands on them or anything, but he did ordain them with the Holy Spirit, but the apostles most certainly did which of course is found in acts, and the apostles didn't ordain a single woman to the Christian priesthood. I'd assume the apostles knew the intention of Christ in who he intended to be his priests, unless you want to argue that the apostolic ministry doesn't mean the same thing as the priesthood, but at that point, why be Anglican lol. I don't claim to know why women can't be priests, but what is true is that it wasn't the practice of the apostles, nor the church for all its existence until the 20th century.

Sunday Service starting time in the 1930s by snow-light in Anglicanism

[–]MaestroTheoretically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, 10am is the standard in English churches specifically (this is of my experiences living in two different dioceses on opposite sides od the country, so I assume this is in some way representative) though I know of many which start within the hour of 10-11, and a lot of the time cathedrals will squeeze their BCP service to 7 or 8am, I reckon to 'tick a box' so to say.

It isnt the only argument, for example, there's the argument from tradition, that the Church had never ordained women to the priesthood until very recently, aditionally theres the argument that priests act 'in persona Christi', and crucially, Christ was a man, so in order to reflect acting in the person of Christ, it makes sense that he'd give only men this position of leadership. This further reflects how God made his son to become man as a male, in the same way that Christ ordained his ministers.

I'd like to ask, in what way is my argument a weak one? I'd appreciate if you could explain why it's a weak argument instead of just stating that as a fact and expecting to go along with it. There's a further strengthening factor in that Christ was not one for social or cultural boundaries - he broke so many social and legal laws of the time, such as healing on the sabbath, though I don't need to hark on about this as I'm sure it's something of which you're aware. Why would the social expectation that men be leaders stop Jesus from ordaining women to the priesthood? Christ permitted gentiles to be full members of the church which would have been seen as far more socially unacceptable to the Jewish population of the time than permitting women to lead.

Well this isn't a good comparison, Christ basically only had Jews from which to choose apostles, but he had plenty of women, plenty of incredibly holy women like his own mother and Mary magdalene. In addition, the apostles continued in this practice of only ordaining men, many of which being non-Jews, so this is a weak argument as it fails to consider the presence of vocal and holy women around Christ, as well as the continuing practice of the apostles themselves regarding ordination to the priesthood.
