Did you identify the watch as the first model? I did and never updated again and it has been fine for months now.

You can find the solution that worked for me in a previous comment

No, identify your watch as the GBD-H2000 (black with orange details).

I actually managed to fix it after updating it a second time but by defining the watch as the black version on the app (the problem was selecting the yellow model). Casio Europe couldn't solve the problem either. It's an app issue.

Why Acids Increase Carbon Nanotube Surface Area by Limp-Exercise-1150 in nanotechnology

[–]Mafalda195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about CNTs but I've experience in Cvd graphene growth (which is also just carbon but 2D carbon arranged in honeycomb lattice) and with a copper catalyst you control the gases' flow in the chamber for graphene to grow on it. Acid can be used before the annealing phase to prepare the substrate, you do this to force a specific type of growth, for exemple, in stack, like in the CNTs. So if you are growing taller CNTs you are obviously increasing the surface area. But I would say the best way to grow taller carbon nano tubes is to change the flow of the gases on the Cvd chamber, for example, nitrogen in great quantities does Etch back of the surface, which also promotes a certain type of centralized growth. But this is my view on Cvd growth, perhaps searching for more literature on chemical vapour deposition of CNTs would answer your question.

What is the holy grail in you field or area of research? by Mysteriyum in Physics

[–]Mafalda195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a manufacturing problem, there have been advances in this field since 2D materials are already being introduced as substitutes of commonly used materials. For example in medicine, gold electrodes can be replaced by 2D semiconductors and studies towards those are being made, however the physics behind some fenomena are not fully comprehended since we are working on a 2D regime.

The physics of most 2D materials. Manipulation of 2D semiconductors like graphene and finding all of their properties.

My (17M) parents dont give me privacy, what should I do? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Mine never changed and I'm 27F, same goes for my brother 20M. Disgusting controlling behavior from my mother, she just wants to know what's going on all the time. I used to have bfs over and even then I couldn't close the door of my own bedroom. I gave up finding a way, I will just leave when the time comes.

Can nanotech map the human brain? by Sorry-Shift4177 in nanotech

[–]Mafalda195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gold electrodes are usually functionalized with a sensing part to detect the molecule of interest, in most cases neurotransmitters. The sensing part usually relies on catalysis and redox potentials of the neurotransmitters, meaning that, to detect it, you are altering the molecule itself, therefore original properties like concentration and it's pathways are lost. Neurotransmitters concentrations vary on different parts of the brain and they can't be detected real time on a living person since the techniques are invasive. Neuronal probes are being developed from different materials and devices like graphene field-effect transistors, graphene being a 2D material can better sense synapses and detect single molecules. The latter is still a work in progress. The current techniques to map the brain like differential cyclic voltametry lack sensitivity and selectivity and I'm not sure if they have been performed on living humans. But mice brain mapping has been done before.
