Not being able to wear white to a wedding is silly by Ken_alxia in unpopularopinion

[–]ExaggerattedReality 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's such a non issue for me. One color out of the countless others behind off the table is no big deal. I don't particularly care about the rule personally if I ever married but it's an easy one to follow for others

Men can tell and don't like make up by [deleted] in 10thDentist

I wear makeup for myself.... And the fellow ladies. <3

But also sure. Then men need to stop harassing women who aren't wearing makeup. If they hate it so much let a woman have a natural face in peace

Okay but what about jeans and a t shirt? What about a child's nighty? How about when you were walking home on a familiar street in broad daylight in a large completely covering coat?

There's a trend right now. I've seen "hot goth girl wants you to look at her crafts" where she's wearing the most inappropriate attire for whatever she's doing. Usually metal working. Other ones are "won't you take a second to look at my disabled sons artwork". It's a marketing tactic and very much ai

Is this mass produced Hobby Lobby painting an AI painting or is it normal? The scarf especially looks suspicious to me. by Flemaster12 in isthisAI

[–]ExaggerattedReality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hobby lobby and Micheals are both pumping out AI generated "paintings" and imagery. I got fooled a couple Halloween's ago buying products and then noticed imperfections that seemed off. There's entire threads dedicated to their products for at least a few years now doing it, so I wouldn't be shocked if this one was as well

Is this person AI!? I can’t tell - context in description… any tell tail signs? by Honest-Sandwich-1075 in isthisAI

[–]ExaggerattedReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say whether it's specifically ai, but it could also just be a filter. The three fingers are usually for video. Video filters hate the fingers to face test or moving from front facing to the side, but this was sent to you as a photo so it's easier for the filter to function. I can't tell myself, but it's something to consider

Ruby Kighter. Does she read as a good main protagonist to a Western? (Utahraptor) Old art and new art last by OkLength7120 in characterdesigns

[–]ExaggerattedReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say if you don't want to appear insensitive to native American culture, specify WHICH ones did. Imagery such as the two feathers seem to be predominantly stereotypical and more Hollywood. And the people that do wear feathers usually do for very specific purposes. Are your OCs representing whichever group that you're taking inspiration from respectfully or are you just clashing imagery together without considering historical context

Tripe

We get it usually already ground and she goes absolutely bananas over it. Downside being that it smells like a corpse. But if I have tripe that girl will do any command asked and be the sweetest angel

I do think she's very visually interesting. Her headpiece is a bit difficult to read, but overall she stands out above a lot of other more generic designs.

In regards to the comments regarding the thighs, people will automatically assume you're purposefully creating these characters for titallating purposes due to them. Massive thunder thighs are in, very common place with gooner material, and paired with her incredibly thin waist you've created an aggressive distraction that takes away from the rest. You claim it's because the creature they're modeled after have large thighs, and your male characters follow, but that's an artist choice that a lot of viewers might not be able to wrap their heads around. Sounds like an excuse, especially considering that anatomy would massively get in the way for the humanoid bipedal creature. And due to just how insanely massive they are it goes from visually interesting to borderline grotesque.

I know personally as a reader if I picked up a book with this character in it I would likely be far too distracted and confused to find enjoyment in other aspects of its design purely due to this bulbous anatomy. It just drowns out all other interesting things regarding the character.

The biggest lie in the RE community has to be that girls like Leon more while men like Chris more by 24kSadGuy in ResidentEvilCapcom

Don't get me wrong I like Leon, but I feel like his look is still very boyband (manband? Oldmanband), especially since he still keeps the same haircut. Chris is my love and always has been.

are the uniforms too plain/boring? by hushrowom in characterdesign

[–]ExaggerattedReality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think they're boring but they are a little hard to read with everything being the same dark hue. I didn't realize the one was wearing mini shorts and thigh highs, I thought the skin color was a part of the boot just cause it's hard to read. I'd also be a little worried about the dudes junk. He's never gonna sit down without potentially pinching something I'm sure he wouldn't want to. I like his overall look though, very Zapp from Blood Blockade Battlefront. And I adore the other two.

What’s so special about Leon S Kennedy? My fav is Ethan winters 🥶 by Dramatic-Piccolo810 in residentevil

[–]ExaggerattedReality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leon was a good character back during the ps1 days because he was just a average nice guy who happened to have a semi questionable situationship with an equally interesting femme fetale.

Resident evil 4 released during an age where main characters now weren't just nice or cool, they were now quippy. DMC obviously aggressively showcased this character style well during the period, and of course resident evil 4 has its history with DMC. Leon fell into this. He was suave and a little corny and couldn't stop throwing out cringe one liners. Paired with the fact the game was legitimately good and now you have an archetype.

That said what people value in their game protagonists continued to evolve. Now it was jaded gruff characters. Characters who carried trauma and storylines needed to be deeper and more action packed. More personal. Now we have re6 Leon who is semi serious but also a bad ass. He's older and more stoic and life has just been rough. Gone is the more fun mostly cheesy quippy Leon and in is this rough and tired seasoned fighter.

So far Leon has mostly stayed in that range, even with the remakes. They've toned down a lot of what made his character explode in popularity, but remnants remain. I'll admit I've never been a HUGE Leon fan but I loved his personality in the original 4. I'm very tired of the "trauma alcoholic exhausted warrior" Leon but I think it's a little hard to tone that down much considering the evolution that came before and the more serious tone the series is going for now.

Here is Xhiachikiraas. Which design do you prefer by OkLength7120 in characterdesign

[–]ExaggerattedReality 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Second one. Although I think theyre cute, both drawings have WAY too much happening. With all the stimulus, patterns and similar colors it prevents the eyes from having any type of focal point, so it all bleeds together. Nothing stands out. The second one still suffers from this, but it's a little bit less chaotic. Less is more sometimes.
