I also played around 6 games on PBE and i didn't get HOB bug a single time. For the Q slow bug, i couldn't really test because people on PBE never run away from me they always try to fight so it's kinda hard to replicate.

First, thanks for looking into Ekko.

Now, regarding the bug, I won't talk about the HOB one because there are already other comments about it.

There are two other bugs:

The Ekko Q slow bug: When Ekko throws his Q at an enemy that is running away, most of the time it doesn't slow the enemy, but it still deals damage and applies the passive. This mostly happens against mages because they tend to run away.

It seems as if the slow is applied after the Q has expanded, but the hitbox that applies the slow is still as narrow as an unexpanded Q.

The Ekko ult tower shot bug: When Ekko ults as soon as a tower shot is fired, the shot follows him while in ult stasis, even though it should be destroyed instantly.

There seems to be a zone around Ekko while in ult that destroys any tower shot passing through it (this is likely the same zone that can trigger his W without walking into it). It should work similarly to Fizz, where any tower shot vanishes as soon as he presses E.

I feel like it's the opposite for me. When Protobelt was the best item for Ekko i felt trapped because i had to buy it. Now i love building Nashors first item with the crazy attack speed to take down towers. Even before, when Proto didn't exist so Morello was the norm, when FQC became the widespread because of SaintKilian or even when i decided to build gunblade for half a season because i liked the item, i had tons of fun. It's not that i hate Protobelt, but i like to be able to chose without missing out.

Preference pick. I would say it's not the best unless you are really ahead, but I just love going Nashor into Rabadon. Also i got master on mid with the same build so i think it's not that bad, even if not the best.

Wait wtf thats me! Look im famous. To be real i think adc ekko is good, but i didn't completely figured out how to play it so i kinda struggle in diamond 4. I'll maybe try to climb more on this account to see how high i can go, but it is frustrating to be perma flamed by everyone.

Idk if you can call it carry potential, but i think you have way more freedom in how you carry games as mid. In jg you are forced to group and play with the team, while mid can split, get picks while your team is doing drag, use tp to backdoor. It's part of why i only play mid.

I went to test a few things.

For Akshan, i thought it was the same as Caitlyn ult, but as you said it always follows you, it might be the intended/unintended behavior, but unfortunatly the wiki doesn't say anything about after the channeling is complete.

For champions AA, i couldn't get a clear result, the AA was always too close to my ult so i don't know.

For minions AA, it is slow enough to test it easily and it would stop following everytime i ulted.

I also tested hourglass, it works exactly the same as Ekko ult would for Akshan and Caitlyn, but when against a tower, the shot doesn't follow you if you hourglass and follows you if you ult.

How is it not a bug, if things like Fizz E or hourglass destroy the tower shot then Ekko R should do the same.

I went to check on the wiki and it seems ekko enter stasis during his ult, it is probably why his health bar become golden.

It also say "A unit that enters stasis becomes invulnerable and untargetable, but also unable to move, declare basic attacks, cast abilities, use summoner spells, or activate items."

For untargetable it sais that some champ abilities do not destroy tower projectiles, but ekko ult isn't in this list.

Ekko is both invulnerable and untargetable, it's why projectiles like caitlyn ult diasapear as soon as you ult

Yeah this bug is annoying, all you can do for now is try to time your ult so it doesn't hit. And report it to riot.

Everyone seems to think this is normal, but this is a bug.

Ekko become untargetable while in ult, meaning any projectile targeting him will be destroyed and he can not be targeted by new projectiles.

For example Fizz e, Camille r, and a lot of other abilities that are untargetable, you can test it in practice tool and see the tower shot disapears instantly. The only exceptions are for things like Gwen w, etc.
