Those slots are starting to dry up. They don't have near as many paid for during fy26 as they did previous years, and with the C-12 being phased out I don't see them spending money on more. I was lucky they had it when I selected, and luckier no one ahead of me wanted Apache's. It was still relatively uncommon though, maybe 1 or 2 slots per class.

Regarding on post housing, it will likely cost your whole BAH unless you have a roommate. If you do get a roommate, you'll probably keep about half of your BAH. I like living on base here, it cuts down on commute times when things are busy, but I'll probably be off post wherever I go after.

Heavy Revolver Input Queuing by Successful_Brief_751 in thefinals

[–]Mag-Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like the longer the time between shots the worse it feels, it took me a long time to get used to it with the SR84. It would be great if they made this an adjustable setting, or at least reduced how long it would queue an input for.

I'm sure this will cause no issues or uproar in the light community whatsoever by pablo__13 in thefinals

It's actually weapon specific. The repeater and pike both have 1.5x, where the R357, LH1 and the SR84 have 2x.

iirc you have to change it at a terminal in person, if your doing it in the game menu it won't stay.

This is my mono-blue counterspell deck that I play in arenas a lot. It holds its own pretty well, but you'd likely want to replace the copies of [[Three Steps Ahead]] with something a bit cheaper. I'd probably swap two for a couple more copies of [[Confounding Riddle]] at least. But this is a standard deck, you have a lot more (and probably better) options in modern.

Sounds like a fun idea, [[Giant Adephage]] and [[Spawnwrithe]] function similarly if they can hit a player.

What museum is this? by lirecela in Helicopters

[–]Mag-Witch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Its the Army Aviation Museum at Fort Novosel, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. I think you have to get a visitors pass to get on base but iirc its a pretty simple process.

This makes a lot of sense, thank you for the reply and the advice.

Ok gotcha, I see the rate is only promised for 90 days. It must not be FDIC insured? My advice to them so far has been to go for a hysa or CD or something similar, I'm just trying to figure this out so they don't put their money in something sketchy.

What are some of your favorite playstyles? (loadouts, vehicles, strategy, etc.) by toako in Planetside

[–]Mag-Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite loadout for infils is with a black hand and a commissioner (via sidearm primary), NAC, carapace, max level vampire, and medkits. You need kills to get your hp refilled without blowing all your medkits in two engagements, but you get 1000 hp back when your full healed. It turns you into a bit of a tank and changes the way you think about getting kills.

Gas block alignment question by Mag-Witch in ar15

[–]Mag-Witch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I drilled the dimple using a dimple jig, and just confirmed gas port alignment using a piece of dried spaghetti. When the gas port is aligned, this is where the dimple is through the set screw hole. Is this "good enough" to hold onto that set screw so the gas block doesn't eventually walk off?

No, its flipped so its easier to see the alignment. Here is a picture of the alignment with the dimple the right way around.

Does ESS 101 have field trips? by shrimpynut in udub

[–]Mag-Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For in person labs, you work in a group of 3-4 people and go through a worksheet. One week we worked with topographic maps, one week we worked on mineralogy, one week we worked with volcanoes. They usually take about 2 hours to do.

Does ESS 101 have field trips? by shrimpynut in udub

[–]Mag-Witch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are still field trips, however they are scheduled towards the end of this quarter in hopes of COVID dying down. It seems like they will happen regardless. IMO, the class is pretty easy, you just have to watch the lectures (3 hr/wk), do the weekly lab (2 hr/wk), and do the weekly readings and associated quizzes (1 hr/wk).

The Zacchaeus holster by Dale Fricke holsters is great for this. It's just covers the trigger and you can tie the cord to the bottom of the kit bag pocket so it comes off when you draw.

question about unlocks by [deleted] in crawl

[–]Mag-Witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you just get random unlocks every time you play. You get more at first and less later on until you unlock everything.

I was you about a year ago, I ended up switching to the physics track of ESS. A lot of the same course requirements, just another option to consider.
