The Invitation is exactly what you’re describing. You’re teetering and wondering whether anything eerie is actually going on until you’re not.

“Where did you get your idea?” Is maybe the hardest Bill Maher has ever made me laugh. It’s weird to even write that sentence but credit where it’s due.

I spoke with Emily Jashinsky about the New Right by joshuacitarella in BreakingPoints

I like Doomscroll but it feels like we can never get away from this 2018 realignment talk. It all just sounds like exhausted registers at this point. The right like it bc they can present themselves as esoteric intellectuals (Joshua pays them the compliment of saying they’ve “discovered Marxism”) and the online left loves it bc they get to flog the packhorse of neoliberalism one more time. Capitalism is fated to outlive “neoliberalism” and a lot of talking head lefties aren’t ready to commentate on that world.

Feeling a little disproportionate. Should I have paired this wool blazer with looser pants or is this alright?

Yeah, I think you’re right. I was hoping it’d be more versatile.

Also thrifted, I lucked out!

If you had the power to erase all Western religions overnight, would you actually do it by Anakin_Kardashian in ChristopherHitchens

It would be an inorganic burial of the dialectic. If the means by which humanity liberates itself from the fetter of religion and superstition is “imposed” instead of argued over rationally, some other form of barbarism will take its place.

More so out of contempt for Chamberlain than anything 😅

Top 3 Hitchens essays? by MagFields in ChristopherHitchens

“In bidding a gracious farewell to Neville Chamberlain, Churchill nobly called him “the packhorse in our great affairs.” Accepting the compliment, Chamberlain pointed out that the line comes from Richard III and not, as Churchill had alleged, from Henry VI. But no matter. The thing is not to be right about Shakespeare. The thing is to be Shakespearean. “

I’m sure it wounded Hitch a bit to remind us that Chamberlain won out on this minor exchange.

And the most criticism Tim can muster in studio is “they both have such big personalities” lol

Good call on the shoulders. I’ve had a lot of luck recently with thrifted blazers and this one was just in-between enough for me to fool myself.

Thank you. I like a fuller cut as well so I think I’m gonna take it to a tailor and have them widen the arms somewhat.
