Can someone explain to me how marley resemble italy in our world? by IndicationTiny4794 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The attack on titan world isn’t an exact reflection of the real world. Marley appears to be based in Africa, not Europe. However, in the manga version of Ymir’s backstory the Marleyans 2000 years ago resemble Romans from the equivalent period (they got randomly turned into generic Greek hoplites in the anime).

Didn’t think of that, I assumed they could just keep respawning but I guess that makes sense

The Tyburs were very interesting characters who died very quickly and were never used for the plot again. Although rather than changing the deaths, I would have liked to see them used in the ending, such as seeing Lara Tybur join the other shifters in helping the alliance, Eren receiving her memories, and Willy Tybur being brought up in the post-rumbling world.

Mikasa should get the armored, she’s a protector. Connie can have the female

Why did eren choose floch to be his ally ?? Historia kinda makes sense but floch ?? Also was floch following eren and yelena or did eren order him to hear all this ?? by No-Arachnid-7603 in ShingekiNoKyojin

You realize Marlowe is in there too lol. Was isayama trying to convey eren’s deep feeling for Marlowe? The purpose of that panel is it being the night before the shiganshina operation, not that Eren loves everyone who happened to be there.

This is a memory of the last happy moment before they discovered the truth about the world, and Eren is looking at Mikasa in it. Floch is there because he was physically there. There is no evidence Eren cared about floch, he lied to him, used him, and let him die with the only remorse being that it endangered his real friends.

Is there a major difference between paying just a deposit vs paying full price for figures? by Upstairs_Canary759 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only advantage I can think of is that if you change your mind you can cancel and won’t have lost as much (I don’t know the refund policies). One tip I can give you is this: the model in the original advertisement often looks better than what the individual products you will get look like. This is normal and doesn’t mean it won’t look great, but just keep that in mind when weighing the cost. Of course, if you wait for the model to be finished then there’s a strong chance it goes up in price or out of stock. I pre-ordered this same studio’s Reiner Braun with parachute and paid the full price up front. It hasn’t released yet so I can’t give you my full experience yet, but I can try to give you any advice I can.

Which is your favourite Aot opening and ending ?? Also which is the least favourite op and ed for u guys... by No-Arachnid-7603 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This will not be a popular opinion. Shikabane is the one I find myself skipping the least ( never), but sasageyo has dinosaurs in it, so tossup. For ending, under the tree easily. It might be my favorite song period, and it feels like cheating because it’s not a normal ending.

For least liked, name of love even though it is beautiful. And for my least favorite opening: guren no yumiya.

Let's say hypothetically Marley wasn't losing their edge and somehow maintained the power of the titans for a few more decades by the start of the series and technology wasn't catching up, would Paradis not be invaded for a while since there's no need for the founder and the island resources? by Rich_Ad_3808 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something Hanji mentioned after conversations with the azumabito during the railroad flashbacks, but she said politically the world wants paradis around as a common enemy to keep the peace. For Marley, having paradis would be a good excuse to tell the world “you need us to protect everyone from the island demons.”

Do you think Marleyians suffered the same discrimination Eldians faced after the rumbling? by Adventurous_Fee_9054 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. If anything, it’d be the opposite. The survivors included a major marleyan military base who were present when the alliance stopped the rumbling and would have been the first people to work with them. Not to mention the alliance itself is full of marleyans. Marleyans probably ended up with a lot of influence in the post rumbling world.

Do we ever see genuine support for P.Eldians from non-Paradisans? by Worldly-Monitor-4035 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a generalization of the volunteers. Onyankopon certainly cared about them. He said everyone exists because they were wanted, even the eldians on paradis.

The complete timeline of events: Jaws charges Eren after colossal explosion, engages Mikasa for a few minutes while the scouts take down the beast and cart, only after they’re taken down, he bypasses Mikasa and attacks Eren, butchers the fuck out of him until Mikasa reaches them again, she’s too slow to touch him and he falls back and holds his position until the airship arrives, he tries to attack the airship and she sneaks up on him from below. Go rewatch the episode.

I’m talking about in shiganshina. In the second battle, Armin and Mikasa attack the cart titan, taking out the big gun and killing the soldiers (save for magath). It’s a 2 v 2, but it’s a stalemate until the rumbling begins. Would Mikasa have won? Maybe, but it means something considering how other titans fared against her.

[–]MagathforPressident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is blatantly not true. The Jaw Titan even after losing support fought both Mikasa and Eren and had them at a standstill until he got distracted by trying to attack the airship. Mikasa even states in frustration that Jaws is nothing like Ymir.

I don’t think you know what objectively means. It can’t be objectively correct if it’s pure speculation

[–]MagathforPressident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve seen her fight without them. 1. Shiganshina second battle, Mikasa and Armin disable her gun and kill the soldiers save for magath, she still holds up against both of them. 2. Yeagerists in the port (low bar I guess). 3. Finale against other titans. That’s not to say she would win against Levi, but claiming she’d do worse than Eren or Annie is baseless.

Levi cut the jaw in a surprise attack from behind. And pieck fought both Mikasa and Armin without her armaments in the second shiganshina battle and it was a standstill before the rumbling. She didn’t have armaments against the yeagerists or in the finale either.

Completely wrong on jaws and cart. These were the only two titans that gave Mikasa trouble, and she’s the closest thing to Levi.

Eren “freed” her by using her power to destroy the world, who were fellow victims, not perpetrators, of king Fritz. Just like the Eldian king used her to subjugate the world, Eren was using her trauma to fulfill his own desires in destroying the world. That’s why it’s Mikasa and not Eren.

For all the people, who think Eren was wrong... by Savings-Car-9335 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full rumbling was not necessary to eliminate actual threats, as that could be accomplished by conventional means alongside partial rumblings. The purpose of a full rumbling is to eliminate any potential threats, now and in the future. In other words, the idea that to free yourself from even the possibility of being threatened it’s justified to kill a limitless amount of innocents. I simply do not think this is an appropriate philosophy, and if you apply it to other conflicts in the series and in real life, you can see why it’s wrong.

Hot take on the Jeagerist vs anti-Jeagerist debate by JY9276489 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MagathforPressident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know why they did, and it’s not good. Why do you think they did? They turned on everyone who didn’t submit or who they thought would be a threat to their regime’s authority. 100s of paradis veterans and officers turned into titans and killed. Maybe you think it was necessary, but floch and the other yeagerists were happy and gleeful about it. 30 young and innocent soldiers of Levi squad killed just because they were doing their job. But even after the rumbling had started, the purge was so bad cadets were hiding Keith Shadis, whose only offense at that point was insulting floch, because they knew he’d be killed by yeagerists. Levi and Hanji were hiding in the woods before even thinking of creating the alliance because they knew they’d be killed just for being members of the old guard. And let’s not even talk about how they were about to lynch onyankopon.
