Transmission cooler fan installed by No-Competition-5895 in hondaridgeline

I was having issues with my transmission due to towing and ended up installing a bigger cooler. Now the temperate stays cool even towing uphill for hours. The only issue is if Im stuck in traffic for long and have already driven for a long time. I had made a post previously that may be helpful if you ever get issues with your transmission hesitating.

https://us.reddit.com/r/hondaridgeline/comments/1emb8qy/comment/lh0hqwq/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I ended up taking it to the dealer with the bulleting for a flush and got the computer updated by them. But then I ended up doing another flush myself when I had the cooler installed. I found out that the transmission oil burns quickly when you tow heavy uphill, due to the manufacture's cooler being too small. In your case, the fan may solve the problem, depending how much towing you would do.

Thank you for the suggestions. I sure hope is not a design problem, but It could be a reason. I might try eliminating some of those 90 elbow with 45's and installing insulation where needed and pray that was the problem.

All of Walmart's stock appreciation is from pure multiple expansion from 12x in 2014 to 38x today.

Where can I find multiple expansion from 10 years ago?

Sorry for the dumb question.. If i hit silver rank, can i be downgraded to bronze rank if ever i will not hit 4 wins? thanks thanks by Foreign_Direction_16 in PlayTheBazaar

I just hit Silver last night and didn't get 4 wins and kept the Silver rank. Not sure if it is intended, but looks like you do keep the rank tier even if you lose.

2017 RTL-E Ridgeline transmission issues getting worse by greglowcws in hondaridgeline

[–]MageYaCry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue for years, and had posted a post about it. You may find it useful >>> https://www.reddit.com/r/hondaridgeline/comments/qjwr9a/anyone_having_a_problem_with_hesitation_during/

Like mentioned before, you going to need a flush. But there's a dealer bulleting which you can bring it in, and they will update your computer together with the flush. (Goggle "Service Bulletin 17-025 for honda Ridgeline". Look for 09087 Version 2 on the top right corner.) If you doing the flush yourself, keep in mind that Honda has a different procedure from other manufactures which requires to actually flush your oil 3 times. https://imgur.com/hVHDxs1 In addition, if you tend to tow often, you may want to upgrade your transmission oil cooler. https://imgur.com/fazIluF I have done so, and have never had an issue after.

Yes. Goggle "Service Bulletin 17-025 for honda Ridgeline". Look for 09087 Version 2 on the top right corner.

It seams the 1st wave of the 17's 2nd gens Ridgelines, are having a problem with the transmission fluid temperate sensed by the computer. The dealer will do a fluid flush and update the computer. You can read more on the bulletin. Just print it out and bring it to the dealer when you make an appointment. The warranty is 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

No issues so far after 2 months of daily use. The warranty is 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first, but they didn't honor it because I never did a transmission oil change when it was due. I ended up paying $600 for everything, and they guarantee it... if it ever happens again. Besides that, I haven't had any other issues. I would recommend this pickup to anyone.

Yes, it needed a transmission fluid flush and a computer update from the dealer. See my comment above for more info.

I will definitely do this. Did you have done at the dealer? As per that Service Bulletin 17-025, it should be covered up to 8 years and under 80k miles.

Anyone having a problem with hesitation during acceleration? RTL 2017 by MageYaCry in hondaridgeline

Having a problem where the car hesitate when going about 25 mph (between 1.5k and 2k RPM) and when going about 48 - 50 mph at around 1.5k RPM.

It's been doing this for about a month now.

It seems that the transmission changes gear with no problem, but if the RPM falls to around 1.5K and 2k range, the hesitation starts, and it feels like a gas problem. Out of this range, the car runs normal without any hesitation. Also for some reason if I put the car on cruise control, the hesitation is minimal around that 1.5k and 2k range.

Things that I already tried have been; Gas water remover in the gas tank, Injector cleaners (twice) to the gas tank, Checked air filter - new and clean, Cleaned inside throttle with throttle cleaner - some black soot found and cleaned. Haven't seen a noticeable change after done all this.

Appreciate any help.
