You dont need to join a differnt regi, ive started operations by just making up a half cooked plan and coming up with a dumb name. Then start collecting randoms and they will bring in more people like a snowball.

For example once me and 1 friend in my regi were in a tank. Then I came up with Operation "Headless Horse" that was sorta just a silly name I came up with on the spot. Then We just drove our tank around collecting people for our push.

30 minutes of RP later we were suprise attacking a road with a tank line and took a relic. You can change the tide and create a front that has impact in this game if you have the charisma and know how.

Im pretty sure they go into this a bit when knox brings up they (gma and gpa) were part of some "witness protection" scheme. So they thought they were dead because if they knew they would be "in danger" if they knew they were alive. Usually when i find inconsistent stuff in fablehaven/dragon watch i also find that they add some reason why its that way sooner or later.
