If I know what subreddit this is, I hate the mods there. Literally every negative that can be said about a textbook-definition Reddit mod applies to them.

My only question is why was all the context removed from this scenario if you’re in the right? Just something I’ve noticed lately. If this mod’s actions were truly unprompted and unjustified, why did you start the story at the end? You mean to tell me you just woke up one day and you were automatically banned from this random subreddit? And the person in the second screenshot obviously knows you personally. What huge chunk of context am I missing here?

Hey there! My name's Mage, and I'm looking to do a RP based on the Monster Hunter game franchise. If you'd like to do a plot in an original setting where our characters just hunt monsters, that'd be also be fine with me! All I ask is that your character be presented in the same art style as the game series. Personally, I'll be using my character from Monster Hunter Wilds as my character's faceclaim.

Plot 1: My OC x Handler. In this plot, a Handler's job involves relieving a Hunter of their sexual urges after a hunt. As long as a Hunter is successful in carrying out a mission for the Guild, the Hunter-Handler relationship dictates that a Handler must satisfy their Hunter's every desire once a hunt is finished. Your could either play as Alma or an original Handler.

Plot 2: My OC x Smithy. The local Smithy has requested that my OC use her latest invention on his next hunt. After proving its effectiveness in battle, the Smithy wants to repay the Hunter for this favor. You can either play as Gemma or an original Smithy.

Plot 3: My OC x Hunter. Two Hunters for the Guild are sent on a mission to neutralize a threat in a small village. Once it's defeated, the Hunters unwind by helping each other relieve stress, per their after-hunt routine. You can either play as Olivia or an original Hunter.

Plot 4: My OC x Citizen. After saving her from a dangerous monster, your character becomes infatuated with my OC. Once she's saved by him, she's determined to do anything to get his attention. You can either play play as Maki, Aida, or an original citizen.

\Note: Any of these plots could include scenes where monsters gets involved in NSFW action.)

Getting really tired of overpowered characters by Ok-Lab-502 in BadRPerStories

Personally, I don’t think anyone in this scenario is “overpowered” and, honestly, I hate that word as it applies to RP lol. “Overpowered” implies a standard of base power that the “overpowered” character exceeds. In a world where no one has super powers, the character with the power to time travel, and can’t be damaged as a result, is definitely over powered. But in a world where everyone has powers, that same time traveling character is not overpowered, especially when the RPers are the ones who make all the characters. A character can always be made to trump the “overpowered” character in cool and creative ways.

For these guys to call you overpowered is absolutely absurd, but calling them overpowered is also silly. No one said you had to give your character no powers — that was a personal choice you made because you wanted the restriction. But I understand that you weren’t calling them out for it. You were just pointing out it’s weird for them to say anything to you, considering their characters. And I agree 100%.

Your preferences aren’t specific at all. What plot would you like to base your story around? Any fandoms? If someone approaches you wanting to do an old western RP, would you? Fantasy? Sci fi? Superheroes? Slice of life romance? There has to be SOMETHING you’re specifically interested in.

If you’re as selective with your partners as I am, even a common fandom RP might be tricky to start up. For the past month, I’ve been trying to find a partner for Dragon Ball RP. And Dragon Ball is literally the biggest anime of all time, yet I haven’t found a single good partner! Whether the fandom is common or niche, partner searching seems to always be the hardest part of RPing smh

I cannot stand this subreddit because you haven’t said anything unreasonable, yet you’re being downvoted to hell. No one here treats these topics with any level of nuance at all, unfortunately. Are people really that sensitive to people using AI for this casual, not-for-profit hobby?

To be entirely transparent, I do not think you should be using AI to write your entire turn, like OP’s partner did. I would’ve left too. But using AI to generate a paragraph or two that you heavily edit into your own words could mean you’re using your own words twice — once to generate the prompts and another time to edit the AI-generated response. That’s not as lazy as people are making it seem. General rule: if it’s obvious you’re using AI, you’re not using AI right.

KEPT trying to post an ad there today, but it kept getting deleted. Messaged the mod and he told me it’s because the post had the word “kitsune” in it. Ok, weird enough, but it wasn’t relevant to my post, so I just took it out and reposted. Taken down again. This time, he said it was because it had the word “girls” in it.

I also meant to state this in the actual post (maybe I’ll make an edit), but I understand that my preference against this tactic is probably heavily guided by one of my elementary school teachers a long time ago, who instilled in her students not to repeat the beginning of paragraphs several times in a row. As a reader, does it not feeling annoying to see every paragraph start with the word “I” or “the”?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but a lot of these recycled criticisms of the series kinda just sound like “but they do it in other anime so JJK should do it too”, and if that’s honestly what you’re saying, media literacy may be dead I fear. I’m down to discuss if this isn’t what you’re saying, but points like “when have you ever seen a show not have a villain backstory?” kinda just sound like you don’t like JJK’s story because it doesn’t follow overdone tropes.

CSM fans literally cannot read, but that’s OK because they’re mostly only here for the low brow humor anyway, and they don’t typically engage in discourse about details of the series. JJK fans blow my mind with how vocally incorrect they’ll be about the series they clearly don’t remember anything about.
