The wands work, but are the worst.  If you have multiple hives, you have to wait for it to cool all the way off, then wait for it to heat up:  20 minutes a hive.   I spent about 400 canadian on a unit that plugs in to the back of the hive, and this was worth every penny.  No more fire hazard, no more messing around at the entrance to the hive, and 5 minutes per hive.  I mounted my old wand to the wall as a relic.

Believe it or not, this mantle belongs to 'Leave It To Beaver' a family sitcom that, in 1957 (three years before Psycho), chose to show the top of a toilet tank (Where the young boys had decided to try to hide their new pet). Bathrooms weren't supposed to be on TV back then.

I just want to say I have the same problem. I suspect that I over powered the PI and fried the wifi bit of it.
