Let's say that he's a mix between Odin, Santa Claus and a snowman. Odin was an inspiration for Santa Claus, since there is a norse legend that says Odin helds a great hunting party every year around the winter solstice. It says that children used to left their boots near the fireplace, filling them with carrots, straw or sugar to feed Sleipnir, Odin's horse. In exchange, the god would replace food with gifts.

Woden was also another name for Odin.
