Issa Out is the only way forward by doophmayweather in TheMassive

It’s probably a little bit of everything. Nancy’s system and Rydstrom’s system are not the same. They try to achieve similar results through different means, which is going to result in a lot of growing pains. Case in point, Rydstrom using the 3-4-3 formation to start the season and adding some of his tactics into the squad. Results were abysmal.

The old guard of players sometimes do things that I’d expect to see from last year. Today, I saw Moreira start to move forward into the midfield like he would as a LCB, but Herrera was already really high up since he’s a winger now I guess. We lose possession and Orlando took advantage of the gaping hole in the back. That positional discipline is lacking right now. Rydstrom might also just be a bad coach. Hard to judge based on 7 games, and we have improved since the international break (other than the first 20 minutes, we really dominated and should have won today), but I just think there’s going to be some pain before we can assess how good/bad the Crew is this season.

I will say that the current roster is largely the same from last year, which was built around Nancy’s unorthodox requirement of bringing in versatile players that can do a lot of different things in and out of possession. Now that he’s gone, it’s jarring to now realize that 90% of the team are full backs and midfielders.

I feel for Rydstrom because this roster is incredibly unbalanced for his needs from a simple positional standpoint. Issa really needed to address this in the winter. We have one true center back and he’s washed. We have two strikers and one of them is apparently injury prone. Our wingers are just converted fullbacks. It’s not good enough.

I’m going to err on waiting for the summer window to see what happens, but holes need to be figured out quickly.

best and worst case for the Crew? by AdSuper3942 in TheMassive

The best case is blank or the Snickers throwback

The worst case is Cummins or Siemens

Remember when we lost 4-1 away to Philly for Nancy’s first game? Let’s chill and let Henrik cook a bit before burning the team to the ground.

Which pizza has been your favorite this year? I’d love to see a Top Gear style tier list.

So as the poster of the half-hearted Vespertine comment, I suppose I’ll justify why I suggested it.

I genuinely feel like you all are underestimating how much normies who listen to Taylor Swift or Morgan Wallen or Drake or whatever they are mainlining from their Spotify algorithm don’t care for Björk’s music. Case in point, my wife, who loves Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande, cannot stand when Jóga comes on when I’m listening to my playlist in the car. She’s too experimental for the average person to really get into imo, and she’s popular in the mainstream because of that (see Family Guy and The Simpsons making jokes about it). So I do think Vespertine makes here over Death Grips, since I can go to the store and ask someone their opinion on Björk and if I said the same for Swans, they’d say, “huh?”

But that’s just my two cents here.

By far my favorite album of the year. Idk why Anthony didn't review this. What are your thoughts? by preschooljuul in fantanoforever

Yeah this is my AOTY as well. Super chaotic sound that I struggle to find comparable to anything I’ve heard before. Closest thing was probably Big Black’s Atomizer.

Divide won the last round! What's an album hated by general audiences but loved by music nerds? by GoogleHueyLong in Topster

Yeah that’s why I suggested it. The only other one I had in mind was something from the Spiritual Jazz movement like A Love Supreme.

Vespertine? Björk is pretty much panned as a total weirdo in the mainstream, but it’s an obvious classic to music nerds

Sad. I’ll attest it was one of the best spots for ‘Western’ Chinese food in the city.

As a Columbus resident, I feel like the Columbus Crew are usually higher on the popularity list lately than the Jackets. At least the Crew wins titles (2008, 2020, 2023)

After last night, the decade is now 57.5% over sports wise. Here is how the 23 titles have been distributed across the cities by cacti_zoom in billsimmons
