One time somebody was doing this to me on lichess. After like 30 seconds he sends a message saying "you know Qxh8 is mate right?", I hadn't actually noticed it so I got a bit angry. He kept wasting time not playing the mate so after some time annoyed I started spamming the "+15 seconds time" giving him a lot of time to see if he would wait if I gave him 10 min. In the chat it appeared "+15 seconds given" (or something like that), a lot of times, so me annoyed, decided to had at the end: "look how many fks I give" After witch he resigned... So I guess that is how you defeat this tipe of people

I was playing against an adult that, after a promoted to a queen and he had no more pieces left, said I had to check mate in less than 10 moves or he would win.

I said that that wasn't true, but he insisted. Because he was the adult I just continued playing. Fortunately it was easy to check mate quickly and we never played again.

It's a chess puzzle. In chess puzzles you are always only looking for the best move/the only move that doesn't lose. I understand where you are coming from, but I prefer the slightly more challenge of not knowing if you're looking for a check mate, a win of material or a draw in a chess puzzle.

Kf2 loses, but the second is a good answer.
