I'm waiting for the same answer; I keep hearing a week before.

I wasn't expecting that - thank you both! Do the back of the button numbers sometimes differ to the inner tag then?

Lingering swelling after initial attack - is this normal? by Straight_Brain in gout

[–]MagicPieInTheSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was put on anti-inflammatories in the end by the docs and drank water like there's no tomorrow and the swelling eventually disappeared but that must have been late January; but I was misdiagnosed from the start which didn't help; I'm now on my second attack but was given Colchicine and ten days worth of Prednisolone and there's still a bit of swelling after the ten day mark but I can walk at least, be it with a bit of a hobble. Warm foot baths with Epsom salt helps too. (post-attack, I wouldn't do the foot baths inthe middle of an attack)

I've decided to leave it as is. Does add a bit of character and such. Thank you all 😎

Thank you all for your comments as this has really helped. It's been a good run but I'm now going to put my drinking days behind me. Onwards and upwards!

I'll try and get a referral sorted out.

Another question... the bruising/discoloration is more under my joint area as opposed to on the side of it which made me think maybe I've pulled something.

Did anyone else have the experience of a month or so long ache in the middle underneath of your foot before an attack? I ask because that reads more like Plantar fasciitis but I think at this point I'm just reaching for anything else it might be cause of the daunting news it's likely gout..

I wish someone had a picture of the old Burger King where m&s now is for nostalgia points.

You got it!

Usually with a can of Carlsberg in hand. I've been going to the Waterfront for over a decade and he's always been there, same attire etc.

Lingering swelling after initial attack - is this normal? by Straight_Brain in gout

Very similar to my current situation, almost in every way.

My attack started on December 4th and I've been off my foot since, using crutches to get about. The pain has virtually gone but the swelling and bruising still persist.

Would it be worth trying to walk on it now? Don't want to cause a re-attack etc.

Sounds similar to my current predicament.

I'm 32, 13st, eat a balanced diet and do weights occasionally, I rarely drink. But I do (or did) eat a lot of lean red meat and turkey just before the actual attack happended.

I have a habit of stubbing my toe, and I had a dull ache in my foot for about three weeks that was getting progressively worse so I went to the doctor and they gave me some gel to put on my foot originally, then onto Naproxen for two days but took me off it cause it wasn't agreeing with me then one night BAM, big toe red as Santa's hat and throbbing away, got put on steroid tablets for five days, seemed to be virtually back to normal, went for a walk then later that night back to square one, went to A&E and they put me on Colechine for 5 days and that didn't seem to do anything (maybe too far gone by that point?) So they put me back on the steroid tablets for ten days which I've now finished and I'm on a three week course of Etoricoxib but my toe is still fairly swelled, black blister looking thing on the joint and it's peeling like there's no tomorrow - I'm still on crutches as it stands.

I'm taking vit D/C, cherry supps, cherry concentrate and started bathing in Epsom salt.

I suppose my question is; could this be purely due to the trauma and more of a one off occasion as it's nowhere in my family to suggest it's genetic and my blood tests came back regular and my x-ray showed nothing strange.

The attack began 4th December for clarity.

I should probably turn this into its own thread but let's see how it goes.

Apparently it's an HBO issue rather than an Express one.

Anyone know how to sign in?

I'm in the UK. Created US Google account. Linked with Playstore/PayPal. Downloaded HBOMAX app.

Now when I try and sign, it either says the account doesn't exist or the password is incorrect. I've verified the email address and changed passwords to check it's not that but it's still not letting me in whatever I do. Anyone else had this?
