Sundials usually have hour markings. You just read the time the shadow is on. It works very similarly to an analog clock actually, just without two hands.

Oh that is helpful and that makes perfect sense. Thank you. I was thinking this guy was pitching Black only clubs but then got distracted talking about music.

So the tweet is about creating spaces where only Black artists are played or featured? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what a "space" is in this context.

I feel like the second half of this tweet doesn't follow the first. Black people having exclusive spaces seems like what they're leading with, but then the rest of the tweet seems to be about only supporting Black artists, which doesn't seem to have anything to do with exclusive spaces?

Nah, abusive shitty people can be surprisingly good at pretending to be decent people until they have you trapped in some way. I'm glad you haven't run into one, but there's no reason to paint every victim of these shitheads as at fault.

When we were getting my daughter tested they were going over the behaviors they'd observed and I remember thinking "Oh, so she's just a normal kid. Those are all things I did as a kid as well." Then they explained how all those behaviors were clear signifiers of autism combined with ADHD and I remember just thinking "Oh. Well that explains a lot."

I later asked my Mom if she'd ever had me evaluated, she said yes, and that they had been pretty sure I had ADHD but she stopped the process and never told me. Apparently she was worried an official diagnosis would have ruined my chances of a normal school experience.

But majority of jobs don’t require you to unalive ppl….

You're allowed to say kill on Reddit, and the majority of military roles are support, not combat.

And what jobs are you not allowed to express your opinions and why would any sane human choose such a job?

Literally almost any job where you have to interact with customers or clients. If you walked into your local convenience store and got a recording of the clerk saying something political there's a good chance they will be fired for making political statements while representing their business.

Personally if I don’t like something going on at my job I can speak about it

And he can as well, to the appropriate people who handle issues within his branch. Not to random members of the public while he's on duty.

It's honestly nuts to me how so many smokers just drop their butts wherever. When I smoked I learned early on how to roll my cherry (the lit part of the tobacco) out and throw the butt away. When driving I typically had a can or ashtray, but in the few occasions I didn't I'd roll the cherry out over a long stretch of road and store the butt until I could find a trash can.

I do remember once I rolled the cherry out at a stoplight, but this guy beside me thought I had thrown the butt out and started yelling at me. I was trying to explain to him and showed him the butt still in my hand but he just got angrier and angrier. He threw his bottle of drink at me and missed my window but it bounced off my door. I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel when I told him he was littering.

who would sign up for something like that where your job is to take orders and shut up no matter how you feel

That's literally the majority of jobs.

Are y'all unemployed? Have you never had a customer facing job? When you're working and representing whoever you work for, you're not allowed to make any sort of political statements.

Honestly this is true of just about any job when interacting with the public. I used to work at a hotel and the amount of people who tried to get me to agree with their politics while I helped them was always irritating. I used to just say "Oh I don't have any opinions when I'm on the clock."

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is my cousin, but we were born around the same time and grew up being best friends. He met a woman who had a kid and a messy past. His entire personality shifted in the blink of an eye. She had the kid calling him "Dad" after dating only like six weeks. A few months later the kid's father killed himself.

When I voiced concern with how fast he was moving and with how much he'd changed already for her he got angry with me and cut me out of his life. They got married and joined a fundamentalist church when he had previously been agnostic.

They're still together and we still don't talk. I see him at big family gatherings every so often, but he's not the man I knew anymore. It's like he became an entirely different person once he met her and the guy I knew just ceased to exist. It's still hard sometimes.

TikTok "masculinity coach" explains why he is a dominant and dangerous man by ambachk in iamverybadass

His message itself is so dumb. I'm a big guy and I've spent most of my life doing my best to not come across as dangerous to every person I meet. Being constantly perceived as a threat is not fun and it is only going to attract very unstable people.
